Kindergarten Photo

My granddaughter Abby just started kindergarten in August and had her first school picture taken shortly after that.  It turned out beautiful so of course I jst had to scrap it.  But I wanted to wait for the perfect collection to used.  When I saw the CHA sneak peaks of new collections coming out, I knew the new Bella Blvd collection Molly was a must-have for me.  I picked it up today form my local scrapbook store and within 2 hours of paying for it I had already created this page. I used this sketch from Stuck? Sketches:

I am entering this page in the Southern Girls Challenge -- Swinging in the Breeze.
(use a banner or pennant or your project)

Edited 8/31/15 to add -- I am linking this up to the current issue of Paper Issues...You Rule the School

That is is for right now but I have been busy all day so I will probably be back in a bit with more to share.  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Abby!

My granddaughter Abby is going to be 6 the first week in March.  Last year for her 5th birthday we were able to be up in the midwest to celebrate with her.  But that is sadly not the case this year.  However I am working on putting together a BIG box of goodies for her and I made this card tonight to go with the goodies.  It is my first shaker card and while I can see I need some good acetate and a little more practice making these cards, I am happy with the end result.  And I think she will enjoy shaking the card and seeing those little sequins moving around in there.

I used DCWV's Celebration Stack and their February card sketch:

I am entering it in the February DCWV StackaHolic Challenge
and
I am also entering it in the current Seize the Birthday Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and checking out my projects.

Week #49

I am still working on make-up pages in my 2013 Project Life album and here is week #49 which was December 2-8.  I am using it to enter Stuck on U Sketches Project Life Challenge to use heart cut outs. On the left page, bottom row my card says "You Are My Everything".  I decorated that with a tiny pink chipboard heart and hearts that I punched with my Stampin' Up heart punch.  Here is the left side up close:

And here is the right side:

I am also linking up this week's spread at Paper Issues current issue....Color By The Numbers

That's about it for now....thanks for stopping by my blog.

Sad News

A few months ago I got the very exciting news that I had been named to the Artful Delight card kit design team.  I was over the moon excited.  To make it even better, my online bestie Suzanne also made the team....for the scrapbooking kits.  For the last 4 months we have had a blast playing with the new kits.  It is been a wonderful thing.  Unfortunately, Leanne (the owner of Artful Delight) made a tough decision recently and as of March 1st she is shutting down.  But Wait!!!!  There is a silver lining as she is having a 50% off sale in her shop....last I checked there were still some pretty awesome kits available as well as some other shop items.  Go HERE for more details.

Butterflies, Hearts and Polka Dots

I am excited to share with you today another card I made with the Artful Delight February card kit. I think this type of card is called an S-fold card...it is something brand new for me and I really like it. For the sentiment inside I used the Studio Calico Tiny phrases from the kit making this card 100% from the card kit. What girl doesn't like butterflies, hearts and polka dots? I think I will send this card to my niece Rachel for her birthday.

Just a reminder that there is still time to enter the layout or card sketch this month to win your own kit. Deadline is February 23rd. Just link up your entry HERE and good luck!

Lovely Daughter In Love

I have a lovely daughter-in-law whom I refer to as my daughter-in-love.  Amy is sweet, smart, hard working, beautiful and unfortunately rarely finds her way onto any of my scrapbook pages.  She just doesn't stop long enough to have her picture taken.  But I love her and want to include her more in my pages.

I am entering this page in the following challenges:

For the Frosted Designs challenge not only did I have to create a page of someone or something I love but I also had to use this color palette:

That's all for right now......I am off work today however so I might pop back in with another creation to share. In the meantime have a wonderful day!

Snow Angel

Wow! What a busy weekend we had!  I realized about 8pm this evening that I had not done anything crafty all weekend.  Well I just couldn't let that happen so I worked on this page featuring my granddaughter Abby.  She and her family ( my son Matt, DIL Amy and my youngest granddaughter Izzy) all live in the midwest and this has been a harch and tough winter to say the least.  But kids always enjoy the snow and Abby is showing off her snow angel in this slightly blurry cell phone picture. I just love the journaling "If snowflakes were kisses, I'd send you a blizzard".  I saw that on the internet recently and it just came to mind while I was putting together this layout.

I used this sketch by Diana Fisher for Scrapbook Circle:

And I also used their October Scrapbook Circle kit.  I am entering it into their sketch challenge HERE .

Thanks for checking out my blog....I hope your weekend was fun and relaxing.  Wishing you a productive week.

2 More Artful Delight Cards

Today is my day on the Artful Delight blog. I am really loving working with this month's Artful Delight Card Kit.  It has really stretched my creativity.  My brother-in-law recently had a mini-stroke and is now home from the hospital.  I wanted to make a card to cheer him up. The balloons are stamped from a stamp included in this month's kit....one of 2 Paper Smooches stamps sets. The twine, yellow cardstock and patterned papers are all from this month's kit as well.  For the Get Well card I used this sketch from Lucy Abrams:

I just changed the star elements to balloons and placed them on the top right corner of the card. I am also entering this card in Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge -- We Love Stamps.

Then I decided to make a card with a tag on it because of this sketch also from Lucy Abrams:

In addition to this sketch I also used one of the Studio Calico Accent Stickers from the February kit....this one is right under the "Enjoy" sticker and says "today". The sentiment and cute black arrow are also in the kit this month and they are by Heidi Swapp.

The Artful Delight kits are so jam packed full of awesome stuff, I feel like a kid on Christmas when my new kit arrives in the mail. Thinking of subscribing? Do it now....you won't be sorry. Go HERE for more information.

Bless My Blossoms

Lately I have really been loving the color blue...in all of it's shades and hues.  I decided to go monochromatic on this card and used a Papertrey Ink stamp that my friend Suzanne gifted me.  I also was given a paper crimper recently and used that on my background paper to add interest and dimension.  I used this sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch:

Just for something different I stamped my sentiment on my wooden veneer banner.  I am entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp We Love Stamps Monday Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and be sure to come by tomorrow for a couple of cards that I made with the February Artful Delight card kit.

Week #34 -- 2013 Catching-up Page

While staying current on my 2014 Project Life pages, I am also catching on my 2013 pages.  This is a catch-up page from last summer.  Above is the left page.  And here is what both pages look like together:

On the right page I embossed the Core'dinations cardstock for the candy shop picture in the upper right hand corner with my dotted swiss embossing folder.  I then lightly sanded the paper to reveal the coral colored core. I am entering it in the Stuck on U Sketches Project Life Embossing Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my projects.

Happy Weekend!

I am really excited that I am staying current with my pocket pages documenting so far this year while I am still catching up on 2013. The above page is the right hand page of my week #5.  I went with a nauctical theme with my filler cards. (Living in Florida, I can use a nautical theme in January!!)  Unfortunately seeing that it is only my hubby and I along with the birdies sharing our home, we often have a week with not a whole lot of pictures.  I love to document the everyday so those weeks still get done.  I just get creative and use a lot of filler cards.

Here are both pages together:

And here is the left page:

I am entering the right page in Red Carpet Studio's Breakfast Club challenge and I documented my Mickey Mouse coffee cup and my "Java Time".

Thanks for stopping by....I will be back this weekend with mor blog posts.  I plan on being very creative this rainy weekend.

A Couple of Cards.......

I would like to share a couple of cards that I have churned out with the February Artful Delight card kit. I love that this card kit is so different from my normal stash items and I am loving the unique cards I am creating with it.

Have you checked out the awesome card sketch by Suzanne this month?

I loved the sketch and paired it with the awesome wood veneer stars in the kit to create this birthday card:

I am entering the above card in the current Paper Smoochers Anything Goes challenge.

Then I also created this card with the kit:

I used this card sketch from Mojo Monday:

I am entering it in their current challenge.

See how versatile this kit is? I love the way both of these turned out. I believe there are still a few kits left....get yours HERE. There are a very few kits available from previous months. Check those out as well. There is a sweet discount on shipping multiple kits. You can also use any supplies with the sketches on the blog, upload your project and you might win a kit....how awesome would that be????

Thanks for stopping by the blog.  I love reading your comments so if you could please leave me one.  It makes me smile.

You Are One of a Kind

I am still scrapping pictures of my youngest granddaughter Izzy in an effort to catch up her scrapbook to her older sister's. I love this precious Instagram photo of Izzy enjoying her cousin's birthday party.  In January I won the complete collection of My Mind's Eye Then & Now collection ironically named Izzy.  How perfect to scrap pictures of my Izzy!!  I love the blues and corals in this collection.  It is pretty without being too girlie and there are elements that will work well for pictures of my grandsons as well. I used this sketch from Stuck?! Sketches --

Isn't that a great sketch?  Perfect for this pictures and collection also. I am entering this page over at My Mind's Eye February challenge All You Need Is Love  because after all my grandchildren are the loves of my life.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Happy Anniversary

Happy 3rd anniversary to my very favorite stamp company....Paper Smooches.  At last count I have 16 stamp sets and several of their dies.  And there are at least 10 more sets on my wish list.  They are awesome stamps that fuel my creativity and I love them.
