Birthday Season

Did you ever notice how birthdays in families seem to come in bunches?  We are currently in one of those....September and October brings a ton of birthdays.  Every year I say I am going to work ahead and be prepared and well, that just doesn't happen.  I love this little card that I whipped up yesterday morning.  I used my Paper Smooches stamp set for the brush strokes for the first time. (What was I waiting for?  I love it!!) and the birthday sentiment is one of my favorites from Avery Elle.  I was inspired by this awesome sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch:

I am also entering this card at:

Enjoy your Sunday....I will enjoy mine even more if my Bears beat their arch-rivals the Green Bay Packers.

Silly Selfie

I had some wonderful days with my son, DIL and their girls in July.  Of course the time went much too fast.  Five days per year is just NOT enough to spend together.  But when we are together we try to pack a lot of fun into a few days.  Izzy, my youngest grandchild is at a rather ornery stage.....she was nearly three when we visited.  She decided she was NOT going to let Grandma take her picture.  She was saying "Nnnnnno!" when I snapped this silly selfie of us. Luckily I did get some cute candids of her at the park one day so at least I have a couple of pictures of her at this stage.

For this page I used this American Crafts papers (Crate Paper and Dear Lizzy) and this awesome sketch from Sketchabilities:

I used my Scribble die from Pink Fresh Studios and the little bow in the upper left corner is a die from Dear Lizzie.  That being said I am linking this page up to current Paper Issues theme -- Tell Me Dies

Thanks for stopping by my blog today....hope your weekend is as delightful as mine has been so far.

Stick It Down Challenges September Card Sketch

If you are here for the Stuck on U Sketches 5th anniversary blog hop go HERE.

This is the new September card sketch and it is up today at Stick it Down challenges.  I find their sketches very inspiring and easy to work with......I used it for this card:

Have you hopped on the die cut trend?  I cannot seem to make a card anymore without using dies. I am really building my collection lately.  In fact, I used three on this card including the Simon Says Stamp speech bubbles.  I heat embossed the SSS sentiments also.  I just love those handwritten sentiments....Kristina Werner's handwriting ROCKS!!  I am entering this card over at the Wednesday Simon Says Stamp challenge blog where the challenge this week is to use a stamp....easy peasy!! Also, I am linking this card up with Paper Issues latest theme.....Tell Me Dies (use a dies or dies on your project).

I hope I have inspired you to try this sketch....I would love to see what you create,

Well now, on to the current Project Life challenge and my project.  The challenge this time is METALLIC.  Use some metal on your pages. I had a very quiet, picture light week for my week #23 so I just created a one page spread.  I figure it is my album and I can do what I want.  So week #24 and week #24 each have just one page. On my title card I used some metal letter to abbreviate week to WK.  I also have a metal frame on the I love life card.

How will you interpret this challenge? Maybe use some of the new trendy metallic papers?  Or heat emboss with metallic gold or silver embossing powder?  There are many ways to meet this challenge and I look forward to your entries.

On to the hop -- here is the hopping order:

Sandi (that's me!)

return to SOUS to let us know you've complete the hop!

Now onto your next stop which is Stephanie!

Thank You So Very Much

Wow!  I sure did get a bunch of projects made this weekend. Since Thursday evening I have made 4 cards, one traditional 12x12 layout and a 2 page Project Life spread.  I know for some of you gals that is all in a days work but that is quite an accomplishment for me.  Here is one of the cards that I made.  I used this sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch:

I am also linking this up to the current Paper Issues Anything Goes theme.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!

Sending You Birthday Wishes

My goddaughter's birthday is coming up soon and I needed to make a card for her.  I also really wanted to enter the sketch challenge over at Mojo Monday so I used their awesome sketch and my new stamp set from Avery Elle for my card for Shannon.

Shannon loves to craft so I think I will tuck a gift card to Michael's in there for her.....I look forward to someday receiving a handmade card from her.

I am entering this card in Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge to use a stamp on it.

Thanks for stopping by this weekend....I hope it was a good couple of days for you.

Deep River Water Park

I was destashing and purging today and I decided to take on my 2 Bella Blvd drawers.  If you know me, you know that I am a HUGE fan of all things Bella Blvd. That is why I have 2 drawers full of their collections, alphas and embellishments.  I had doubles and triples of many papers.  While I was working on the deepest drawer, I came upon an unopened collection called Sand & Surf.  As I looked through it I knew it would be perfect for a page with pictures from our trip to the Midwest in July when we took most of the grandkids to the water park so I quickly got to work on it.  I used this awesome sketch from My Creative Sketches:

I am entering in their sketch challenge which is open for another week if you want to try your hand at it. I am also linking this layout up to Paper Issues latest theme -- Anything Goes.

Happy Birthday Dan

We were in Raleigh last weekend to visit family.  Dave's brother and his family have lived in Raleigh for nearly 9 years.  Recently my niece and her husband also moved there where Dan is a mechanical engineer for Bridgestone Tire. We got to have breakfast with them last Sunday and catch on the last 2 years. It was awesome.....we really like those two.  Dan's birthday is coming up this month and I wanted to make him a card using my new Sweater Weather papers from Lawn Fawn. The sentiment stamp is from Stampin' Up and the cute little Celebrate flair is from American Crafts.

I am entering this in the current sketch challenge from My Favorite Things because I used this awesome sketch of theirs:

Thanks for stopping by my blog....I have lots to share this weekend plus an awesome blog hop that I am going to be participating in on Monday....more details on that to come.
