One Last Halloween Card

Well I made my last Halloween card for this season and it is for my wonderful hubby Dave.  He is very supportive of me and my hobby and I am a very lucky lady.  Of course I am always telling him how lucky HE is...lol.

I trieda a new technique on this vard....I used my Hero Arts polka dot background stamp with Versamark ink and clear embossing powder.  I really like the effect on the kraft cardstock.  I saw this technique done by Jenn Shurkus.  She is on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog DT.  Their challenge this week is to Get Crafty and Use Kraft so I am entering this card in their challenge.

I am also entering this card over at the Red Carpet Studio's Haunted Mansion challenge.

That is it for this weekend's projects.  I will keep crafting and be back next week with more to share.

Halloween Treat Bags

I love to make treat bags, cards and goodies for my grandchildren and Dave's brother's kids for Halloween.  I like it so much I even make Halloween treats for our next door neighbor's children.  I have been busy all month on these crafts and they are now all finished and mailed out.  I just have a couple of last minute things to add to the crafts for the kids next door but I have all week to do that.

These gift bags are for my grandsons and I used last year's Halloween collection from Bella Carta to decorate these. They got filled with caskets of candy, spiders, plastic zombies, money and lots of other little goodies that boys like.

I am entering these in the following two challenges:

and

Thanks for checking out what is new here on my blog.  I really appreciate the comments so please leave me one and let me know you stopped by.

Both Thanks and Giving

I love crafting on Saturday afternoons.  This time of year I have college football on for background noise and I just enjoy myself playing with paper, glue and today I threw in some sequins just for fun.

The stamp I used on this card is from Neat & Tangled and I just love it.  They have a challenge blog called Little Tangles with the current challenge being "Inspired by the Design Team".  I was inspired by this card created by Donna Mikasa....a guest designer on the May 15th blog post:

I just love the way Donna used a polaroid style frame for her shaker so I did that too.

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge -- Get Crafty and Use Kraft.

Thanks for stopping by.....I will be back soon with some more crafts I have been working on.

Trick or Treat, Smell my Feet

I remember how my brother used to recite this little rhyme over and over and over again the whole month of October.  While it was annoying then, years later I find it rather cute that kids today are still staying it 40-50 years later.  I made this little card for my grandson Cole and tomorrow it goes in the mail with lots of candy, plastic zombies, a wooden casket full of sweets and maybe grandma even tucked in a little money for a comic book.

I am entering this card in these 2 challenges:

Thanks for stopping by my blog tonight -- have a wonderful week.

Stuck On U Sketches New PL Challenge

There is a new challenge up at Stuck on U Sketches for Project Lifers and it is a good one.......use Black-Orange-White on your page(s).

I am still working on catching up and finishing (believe it or not) my 2013 album and this is week #38 from a year ago.  But I keep good notes and have lots of pictures (most weeks) so I can do it.  I actually do not have many more weeks to do before my 2013 albums are complete.  Here is my 2 page spread shown together:

Here is the left side of the spread:

and here is the right side of the spread:

There is a prize that you could win this month and the more challenges you enter the more chances you have to win.  So link up any pocket page layout as long as you used orange, black and white on it and you could be our next big winner!

I am entering this 2 page spread in Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge "Anything Goes".

Good Luck!

Hey Frank!

I had this cute layered chipboard Frankenstein in my stash FOREVER and decided that this was the year that I was going to use it.  I rarely create a card with no sentiment on it but this card just looked complete without one.  I am not sure but I think this card might go to our nephew Gabriel.

I was inspired by the Color Coordinates challenge at Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday blog

I am going to link up my card to their challenge....why don't you get inspired and do the same?  You have a week to do so!

Thanks for stopping by...smile....it is almost Friday!

Have a Jawsome Birthday

My grandson Cole had his 9th birthday last week.  He is such a fun and wonderful kid.  Last summer he and his older brother Jake came down to Florida with us and spent nearly a week with my husband and I.  We had the best time....they were a lot of fun.  Our home seemed empty when they left.  We are hoping they are able to come back for another trip this coming summer.

To celebrate Cole's birthday I made this card.  I saw the sentiment somewhere and reproduced it on the computer for my card because what boy ISN'T fascinated by sharks?

I used this sketch from Stick It Down Sketches:

I love being on the card sketch design team for Stick it Down....honestly, I LOVE their sketches.  They really inspire my creativity.  Why don't you check out the sketches this month?  Not only are there card sketches but also single page and double page sketches as well.  There is truly something for everyone.

Thanks for stopping in -- I hope you have a wonderful and productive week.

O is for Owl

Don't you love when you go shopping in your stash and find something you bought, put away and forgot about? That is what happened with the Cuttlebug embossing folder I used on this card.  It is called Owl Flourish and I bought it a year or two ago and never used it until now.  And I LOVE it!!  I paired it up with my new Thanksgiving Stamp I bought from Neat & Tangled and the above easy, peasy card is the result.

And what do you think of my little owl that I picked up at Goodwill for 49 cents?   I am going to use him this year as a staging prop but next fall I am thinking of spray painting him white and using him in a fall display. That's what I call getting a lot of mileage out of an inexpensive little item.

I think I will enter this card over at the Monday Simon Says Stamp Challenge which is "O is For....."

Thanks for checking in with me...have a great week!

Welcome Baby

My brother-in-law and his wife are having their 4th child this coming week.  They are having a little girl named Rosie.  Isn't that an adorable name?  I wanted to make a card/gift card holder for them and I was inspired by Jennifer Ingle's card on the Pink Fresh Studio blog.

I used this sketch from My Favorite Things:

I added that adorable elephant chipboard from Bella Blvd., the welcome sentiment from Paper Smooches and the "BABY" sticker and shipboard heart from my stash.

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  I appreciate you taking the time to stop by my blog.

Best Witches

I found this adorable little witch in a Bella Blvd. Halloween collection and knew she would be perfect for the front of a Halloween card for my 6 year old granddaughter Abby.  I used this sketch from Mojo Monday:

I am entering this card also in the World Card Making Day Pattern Play challenge at  the Winnie & Walter blog.

Thanks for checking out my card....I would LOVE it if you left me a comment.

Happy Weekend!!

You can see the details HERE.

I just used a little Happy Halloween sticker for the sentiment.  I love Winnie & Walter stamps and have several sets on my wish list.

A Little Fall Treat

I had a real treat tonight -- I got to meet one of my online scrappy friends and have dinner with her and her husband.  Barbara and Arthur were visiting family in Orlando this week and came up to St. Augustine for dinner with my husband and I.  I am lucky enough to live where many people come to vacation so I have been fortunate to meet several of my online friends while they were on vacation.

I wanted to make Barbara a little something and so I decorated this bucket from the $1 bin at Target with some burlap ribbon from Stampin' Up and some fall themed Basic Grey Woolies that had been in my stash forever.  I added a tag with some twine and filled it with Pumpkin Spice M & M's because what crafty lady DOESN'T like M & M's?????

I am entering this at Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge this week which is -- Falling in Love....

Thanks for stopping by....have a wonderful week!

New Stuck on U Sketches PL Challenge

It is time for another Project Life challenge from Stuck On U Sketches and I love this one --use a Keep Calm card.  I just love the "Keep Calm and ...." sayings.  I think I need a t-shirt that says "Keep Calm and Retire"!  LOL  Only 5 more years until I retire and I am sure the time will go fast.

Here is my project:

Yes, it was another quiet and slow week for us with nothing going on and virtually no pictures so I just did a single page for my week.  I think I have decided that in 2015 I am going to do monthly spreads instead of weekly.  With it just being my hubby and I, our life is just not exciting enough to fill 1-2 pages per week.  And the wonderful thing about Project Life is that it is my project and my life and I can document it ANY way I want.

I hope you will play along with us at SOUS and create a PL page(s) with a Keep Calm card and link it up.  There IS a prize involved!!  Go HERE to get all the details.

Thanks for stopping by today....have an awesome week.

World Card Making Day Card #4

I actually made this card yesterday on World Card Making Day but am just now getting around to sharing it here on my blog.  I used this sketch from  Tracy's blog A Scrap at a Time and am entering it in the WCMD Blog Hop over at the My Scraps and More Sketch blog.

My total for yesterday was 6 cards, a set of 4 Project Life 3x4 cards and a Project Life page. I think I used up all my creative juices however because I couldn't motivate myself to make anything today!

Thanks for stopping by.

World Card Making Day card #3

Here is the third card I did today.  Don't you just love that cute little Paper Smooches ghost with the googly eyes?  When I saw this sketch by Audrey Yeager on My Scraps and Mores Sketches blog, I just knew I had to use it.

There is a whole lot of fun to be had on their blog this weekend with 10 different sketches to play with.  I used another one of the sketched tonight for another Halloween card but I will probably share that one tomorrow.

Well I have been making cards, blogging and entering contests for over 12 hours now so I am thinking I need to call it a night but I will be back tomorrow with several cards and projects to share.

Thanks for stopping by my blog,

Let Us Celebrate

Okay....here we go with World Card Making Day card #2.  This is a birthday card for our sweet little niece Lily who turns 3 very soon.  Lily has the most beautiful naturally curly hair.  I think she takes after her Aunt Sandi....seriously my hair looked like this when I was her age except my hair was darker.

Isn't she a doll?

I used Avery Elle's Cake and Candles Stamp set (which I love!) and I am entering this card in their Use a Tag Challenge on their challenge blog A E I Heart U.

I was inspired by the colors of the mood board challenge on the Butterfly Reflections blog:

I am also entering this card at Seize the Birthday AND I included their toppings challenge to use a banner or pennant.

Moving right along....I will be back soon with another card I completed today.  Are you making any cards this weekend?

~~Sandi~~

Trick or Treat

It is World Card Making Day (WCMD) today and I have been up since very early this morning planning my cards and creating them.  I have a number of  cards to make this month.....a new baby card, birthday cards, and of course Halloween cards for my grandchildren, niece and nephews and the neighbor kids next door.

I used this sketch from the Butterfly Reflections blog and am entering it over there.

There is still plenty of time to play along with this and a multitude of other challenges.  Hope to see you playing this weekend also.

Edited 11/1/14 to add:
I am linking this project up to the current issue at Paper Issues....Witchin' You a Happy Halloween with SRM stickers.  I used an SRM sticker for my diagonal sentiment on this card.  I love their stickers and need to replenish my stash as I have nearly used mine all up.
