Beachy Thank You card

I made a lot of cards this month....27 to be exact.  I was hoping for 31 but our weekend in Chicago for my grandson's graduation got in the way.  I still feel very accomplished and have mailed over 1/2 of them and have quite a nice stash to pull from for upcoming occasions.  This card you see here is one for my stash.  I always seem to need thank you cards.  I used this fun sketch from Sketch-n-Scrap:

Well tomorrow is the end of the month and June is just around the corner....where has the time gone?

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I appreciate your kind comments.

You Are Awesome

I just loved that Kristine is bring her blog Creative Scrappers back and sharing new sketches.  Her sketches have always inspired me and this one was no exception.  Here is the page I created with her latest sketch:

These pictures were just taken a week ago on our quick weekend trip to Chicago.  I get so little time to spend with my beloved granddaughters that although these photos aren't so great, we had such a wonderful time in the hotel pool that I had to create a page for the girls' scrapbook.  I used papers from the Photo Play collection Like A Girl (I love this new-to-me company) and I am entering this page in the sketch challenge at Creative Scrappers.

I am also entering this page in Clique Kits Anything Goes May Challenge.

Well, Monday is over with and so is our long weekend.  Thanks for stopping by tonight.

Matchbook Memories

I have a match book collection that I have been wanting to document for sometime.  The current Elle's Studio sketch was perfect to do so and here it is! I used everything from Elle's Studio except perhaps that small wood veneer heart.  Here is the current sketch:

There is still time to enter a page with this sketch yourself.  Check out all the details HERE

I am also entering this page in Clique Kits Anything Goes Challenge for May.

Back to work tomorrow!  Thanks for stopping by tonight!

12 months of Selfies

I rarely do 2 page layouts but I had the idea for this page rumbling around in my head for several months now and there was no way I was going to attempt to squeeze 12 pictures on one page.  I am not totally happy with this....too much white space for my liking and the pretty patterned paper got all covered up but I am glad I got the pages done and in our scrapbook. I used this awesome sketch from Scrap Much?:

I am squeaking this entry in right in the nick of time as the deadline is only 6 hours away!  Whew!  That is cutting it close!   I am also entering it in Clique Kits Anything Goes Challenge.

How's your Memorial Day weekend going?  Ours so far, has been the perfect mix of getting things done and relaxing.  Thanks for taking time to check out my blog.

She Believed.....

I am still working on making a card a day in May.  This one is for my daughter in law because I think she is pretty amazing.  I used this great sketch from Sketch-n-Scrap:

I am also entering my card into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge.

Well, it is late and we are planning to go to the gym in the morning so I am going to hit the sheets.  I hope you are njoying your Memorial Day weekend.

What's The Buzz?

I just loved the sketch this week at My Favorite Things.  I REALLY need to build my stash of their gorgeous stamps and dies.  The sentiment on this card is from MFT but those adorable bees are a Unity Stamp image.  I used this sketch from My Favorite Things:

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge.

It is almost the weekend....does that make you as happy as it makes me????

Anchors Away on Your Special Day

Day 26 and I am still plugging away at a card a day.  The end is in sight.  I am so proud to have made 26 cards already and most of them have already been mailed out.  I am now at the point where I have no one else to mail a card to so I am building my stash.  I can always use birthday cards so that is what I made tonight.  I used an awesome paper pad by Kaiser Craft that has everything in the pad that you see on this card....fabulous patterned paper, borders and die cuts.  I paired it up with this great sketch from Your Next Stamp:

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I truly appreciate each and every visit.

Life is Good

I am just returned from an awesome weekend in the Chicago area.  My oldest grandson graduated from 8th grade and we went out to celebrate.  It was wonderful all being together.  But more on that later.  Right now I want to share this card that I made with this very inspiring sketch from Viva La Verve

I used papers and a chipboard pineapple from Pink Paislee's Citrus Bliss collection.  I just love the colors and patterns and have made several cards recently with this collection.  I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge.

That is about it for tonight....I have another card to share but with so much to catch up on after being away, I may not get to that this evening.  Sooooo....you will just have to come back tomorrow to see my next creation.

DCWV May Card Sketch

I started my Father's Day cards and this is the first one I made.  I really love how it turned out. Of course it all started out with this DCWV card sketch from their May Stack-a-Holics challenge:

I used one of my favorite stacks....Seaside Yacht.  I think I will send this card to my dad in Colorado.  Thanks for stopping by tonight.

Thinking of You Mark

Recently my husband lost two of his uncles in a very short time span.  Now that a few weeks have gone by, I wanted to let his cousins know that we are thinking of them.  After I made this card for Dave's cousin Mark, he told me that Mark had been in the Navy.  I never knew that but I believe it was no coincidence that I designed this card for him. I used this versatile sketch from Your Next Stamp:

I addition to the sketch challenge at YNS. I am also entering this card in the Felt That Challenge at both the Monday and Wednesday challenges at Simon Say Stamp. I die cut that double star out of felt and topped it with a small wooden veneer star.

That's it....I have to end this so I can get some sleep.  Tomorrow we fly to the Midwest to see my family for the first time in 14 months. I don't know who is more excited....the grandkids or me!!

Flamingo Fun

I had a great deal of fun making this card last night.  It is for a good friend's birthday.  She and I do not get to see each other very often now that I moved from the Midwest to Florida, but when we get together we are able to pick up right were we left off. I hope to see her on my upcoming trip to Chicago.

I used this awesome sketch from My Favorite Things and the sentiment is also from MFT.  I really want to get the matching flamingos stamp and die sets that go with this sentiment set. In the meantime I used a chipboard flamingo from Pink Paislee's Citrus Bliss collection.  The papers are from the same collection.

That is all for now....thank you for stopping by and checking out my blog....only one more day to the weekend!!

Let's Party 'Til The Cows Come Home

I have challenged myself to make a card every day this month and send them out.  Whew....some days are definitely harder than others depending on how hard of a day at work it has been.  For this card I used this sketch from Viva La Verve:

That adorable cow is a chipboard piece from Simple Stories Let's Party collection and I love it....I think I need 6 more...lol   The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Verve stamps.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today and checking out my card.

Little Tangles Challenge #68

My husband and I work together and recently we got the news that a co-worker of ours has cancer.  He starts his treatment today and we wanted to send him a card to encourage him in his fight. I used the resist embossing technique on this card.  I stamped and embossed the card with white embossing powder and then water colored over it.  The embossed image resists the water color.  This stamp is one of my favorites from Neat and Tangled and I am entering it in  the Little Tangles Challenge #68 -- Anything Goes

I am also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Embossing Challenge.

Got to fly....off to work!  Happy Monday!

Happy Birthday Geri

My younger sister is having a birthday this upcoming week so I made her this simple little card using a small set of dies and a stamp from CAS-ual Fridays.  One of my favorite color combos is red and aqua.  I am entering it in the Birthday Girl Challenge at CAS-ual Fridays

She is celebrating this weekend in Myrtle Beach so this card will be waiting for her when she get back.

Hope Your Day Doesn't Bite!

One of my very favorite stamp sets is this Shark Bites stamp set from Newton's Nook.  So naturally, I reached for it to use with their current awesome sketch.  It made a great masculine birthday card....don't you think?  I used this sketch:

I am not only entering this card in the Inky Paws Challenge, but I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Embossing challenge as I heat embossed the white sentiment on the tag.

That's it for tonight....it is almost the weekend...YAY!

Warm Thoughts

This is my third entry for the challenge at Your Next Stamp.  I do not have any of their stamps and I really love them so I am trying HARD to win their challenge so I can score a stamp or two.  For this card I combined the sketch:

with the color challenge:

I used all the colors on my card with the exception of the purple and the green.  I also used my brand new Lawn Fawn paper pad....don't you just LOVE that plaid paper????

Thanks for stopping by my blog tonight.

Your Face Makes Me Smile

I was able to spend a little time in my creative place Saturday in celebration of National Scrapbooking Day.  I created 2 layouts and a card.  This is one of the pages I made.  Walgreens was offering a free 8x10 in honor of Mother's Day and I got this photo done then cut it down to an 8x8 picture.  I love scrapping larger photos especially when it is as dramatic a photo as this goofy picture of my husband.  He makes me laugh every day and I love that.  I used this Flashback Friday sketch from Sketch-n-Scrap:

I just substituted my large photo for the 3 photos in the sketch....everything else I tried to keep pretty close to the original sketch.

Well that is about it for tonight....I am glad this Monday is in the books...bring on Tuesday!

You Are....

My local scrapbook store recently ran a sale.  I knew she had just gotten in a bunch of new stamps and dies from My Favorite Things so I went shopping and this  is one of the stamp sets I picked up.  I thought it worked perfectly with their sketch this week:

I am entering it in their sketch challenge. I am not sure who I will be sending this to yet...I just wanted to use my new stamps!!

Way to Go

Well here is my second graduation card that I have to make.  This one is for my grandson Jacob.  He will be graduating from eighth grade two weeks from today and I am very excited to say that Dave and I will be there to see the ceremony....woo hoo!

I used Sketch #171 from CAS(E) this Sketch:

Well today is Mother's Day and my in-laws are coming over so we can take them to dinner. I hope to get into my craftroom a little later today to create some more.....what are your plans?  Have a wonderful day.

Cold Nose, Warm Heart

I received a very sad phone call two weeks ago from my son telling me that Daisy, their beloved family pet had died in her sleep.  Matt is the only male in the household and he said everyone was quite upset.  I could even hear the emotion in his voice.  So today I had my husband find these photos that we had taken of Daisy nearly 5 years ago so I could do a memorial page on her for my son's family.  I used this beautiful sketch for National Scrapbooking Day (which is today) posted at The Scraproom Blog and am entering it in their NSD Challenge

They have also teamed up with Scrap Our Stash and I am entering their challenge also.  The challenge was to use something from each of these letters:

S  ~ Sequins, Staples, or Stickers
  T   Tags, Tape, or Transparency
                       A ~ American Crafts, Ampersand(&),or Arrow
S  ~ Stencil, Stick Pins, or Striped Print
                H Hashtag (#), Heart(s) or Hemp (cord)

I used stickers. a tag, an arrow, a striped print and hearts....all from my stash.  I love this challenge because I get to looking through my stash and find all kinds of neat things that I forgot I had.  Like that round tag I used on this page...doesn't it look like a dog tag?
Well that is about it for today.  I have been up since early this morning when my husband woke me up and dragged me to the gym to work out...lol.  So I am beat and think I will hit the sheets.  We are having my in-laws over tomorrow to celebrate Mother's Day.  How are you celebrating?

~~Sandi~~

Celebrating You

We have two graduations in the family this year.  Both my niece Rachel and grandson Jacob are graduating from eighth grade.  I made this card for Rachel.  I used a Verve sentiment "Celebrating You" and this awesome sketch from Mojo Monday:

When I looked at the sketch it just looked like a graduation card to me....it must be the stars.

I am enjoying lots of craftiness this weekend so I have lots to share with you soon.  I hope you will stop by again and see what I have been up to.

Happy Mother's Day

I only needed to make two Mother's Day cards....one for my daughter-in-law Amy which I shared a couple of days ago and this one for my mother-in-law.  I used one of my favorite stamp and die sets.....it is called Fabulous Flamingos by Reverse Confetti.   I am also using the Reverse Confetti May sketch. Here is the awesome sketch I had to work with:

I am also entering this card in Your Next Stamp Color Challenge
I am using four of the five colors -- the green, orange-y yellow, light blue and light pink.

This has been a tough week at work and I am really looking forward to the weekend.  How about you?

Have an Otterly Great Birthday

My niece in North Carolina is having a birthday this weekend.  She is a real animal lover so I knew she would love this cute little otter and punny sentiment.  I used this perfect sketch from Your Next Stamp:

The stamp set is from Lawn Fawn and I am entering this card in the Calling All Critters Challenge #129 on the Lawnscaping blog.

Well we made in past the halfway point of the week....that makes me happy.  How about you?

Happy Mother's Day Amy

My daughter-in-law is amazing.  She is in school full time to become a CPA and also she is mom to my two beautiful but demanding granddaughters and also wife to my son Matt and dog-mom to their rescued puppy Hazel. I wanted to make her a special Mother's Day card to show my appreciation for her and enclose a gift card from Bath and Body Works for some things to pamper herself a bit.  I used this wonderful sketch from Sugar Pea Designs:

The card and gift cart went postal today so I am hoping it will arrive by the end of the week.  I have one more Mothers Day card to make this week and that one is for my mother-in-law.  How many Mother's Day cards do you make?
