Merry Everything

I just LOVE the Pure Innocence line from My Favorite Things. This image is truly one of "my favorite things"...lol  And I paired it up from a sentiment from Jingle All the Way which is my newest set from MFT. I got it with a gift card I won recently from them.  Now you can see why I am an MFT fan. I used the current card sketch from the MFT blog:

In addition to entering the My Favorite Things Sketch #304 Challenge, I am also entering this card in Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by....I hope your Halloween was a blast!

Thanks a Latte

I love the colors of fall. I love everything about fall, in fact. It is a pity that we do not get much of a fall here in coastal Florida. But the temps have cooled down considerably recently and I have traded my capris and tank tops for leggings and long sleeved tees.

I received an awesome surprise in the mail today from a friend in Michigan.  She sent the Shimelle puffy hearts that I have been admiring online.  So many places were sold out but my friend found a pack for me and sent them my way. I wanted to thank her for them. She and I share a love of coffee so I whipped up this coffee themed card for her.  I used this awesome sketch from Kerry Urbatch on the Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog:

I even included a couple of the puffy hearts that Mel gave me on her card.

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today....Happy Halloween!

Too Cute To Spook

I absolutely loved this picture of my granddaughters taken last Halloween and wanted to do it justice on a nice scrapbook page. I loved this sketch and challenge from Scrap Our Stash:

I had to use one item from each column and I used Doodlebug (papers), English Green (background paper) and a flower.

Busy, busy weekend here this weekend.....hope you are having a fun weekend.

Hippo Birthday

My great niece is turning 10 next month and I cannot resist a cute pun when making a birthday card so I dug out one of my favorite Lawn Fawn stamp and die sets for this card.  I am entering in the  Lawnscaping Color Scheme Challenge.  The challenge is to use purple, black and one other color....which I chose pink. Reyna loves Michael's (a girl after my heart) so I will also be enclosing a Michael's gift card in this card. I hope she likes it.

Thanks for stopping in on a Monday to check out my blog.  Monday is definitely NOT my favorite day of the week so I am glad it is nearly over.

I'd Like to Espresso My Thanks

I recently was diagnosed with stage one breast cancer and had successful surgery to remove it.  I was blessed with many cards and gifts during my recovery and I need to make quite a few thank you cards.  This is going out to a dear friend in the Chicago area that sent me a gift of LuLaRoe leggings. Have you jumped on the LLR bandwagon? I may be a little late to the party but they are absolutely the softest and most comfortable thing I have ever worn. To show my appreciation, I made Teri this card. I used the awesome sketch at Viva La Verve:

I also used one of the free digitals stamps from Julee Tilman for Verve stamps on this card.

Thanks for stopping by on this beautiful Sunday afternoon.  Fall has arrived in Florida and I am thoroughly enjoying it.

Fall Fun

My oldest grandson Jacob is now 15. This picture was taken last year at the pumpkin patch when he was 14 and just might be the last Halloween type picture of get to scrap of him.  He is more and more reluctant to get his picture taken (as most teenage boys are) So I seized the opportunity and created a page with this awesome picture.  I used this sketch from Grand Diva's Scrappy Friends Challenge:

I also  added a tag below the journaling card so I am entering this layout into Rochelle Spears This or That Challenge to use tickets or tags.

Finally I am also entering this page in Scrapbook Circle's October Challenge -- Autumn Leaves.

Well that is about it for this beautiful Sunday morning. I hope you day is filled with all your favorite things.

Trick or Treat, Smell My Feet

My grandson Cole loves Halloween....maybe because he was born in October or maybe because he loves all things creepy or maybe it is just the candy. But whatever it is you can always see the excitement on his face in his Halloween photos.  Last year the weather was not so great in Indiana for trick-or-treating but Cole did not let it dampen his spirits at all as you can see from this photo.

I used the fun sketch from The Scraproom Blog:

There are still a few days to enter this sketch challenge with me.  See all the details HERE

Thanks for stopping by....come by tomorrow as I have another Halloween page to share.

Izzy's Gift Bag

My youngest granddaughter Miss Izzy, loves the color purple. So I try to incorporate the color in a lot of the goodies I make for her including this Halloween gift bag. I picked these burlap gift bags up super cheap after Halloween last year.  They only had 2 but if they had more I would have bought them all....they were only 50 cents apiece!  I filled this bag with slime, candy, and other goodies that only a 5 year old could love.  I love to spoil my grandkids!

I am entering this project in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Gift Bag/Box Challenge.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I'm Glad You're Alive

Here is another one of my Halloween projects....this card is for our grandson Cole. Cole has an October birthday and Halloween is one of his favorite holidays. I had a lot of fun coloring this Frankenstein monster from My Favorite Things Frightful Friends stamp set and creating a little scene for him. I used the MFT sketch #303 for this card:

I am entering this card in the card sketch at My Favorite Things. There is still plenty of time if you want to play along.  Thanks for stopping by my blog....have a wonderful weekend.

Happy Haunting...MFT Color challenge

I saw these colors at the Color Challenge at My Favorite Things and they just screamed a Halloween card to me.  And since I still had to make a card for my 15 year grandson I thought I would play along. Here is my entry:

I used a kraft card base and the persimmon colored background paper is from the MFT Sweet Sunshine 6x6 paper pack.  I then colored my vampire in Gumdrop Green and Milk Chocolate (these colors are giving me a sugar craving...lol)  I like the way he turned out. The image and Happy Hauting sentiment are from the MFT Frightful Friends stamp set....one on my new favorites.

Thanks for stopping by....it is finally Friday.....my favorite day of the week. Fall weather is finally arriving in Florida this week and I plan to enjoy it.  What are your plans?

Boo!

I just love this little ghost couple and I knew I had to put it on a card for my son and his wife for Halloween. I used this awesome sketch from Viva La Verve:

I stayed pretty true to the sketch....I just swapped out a square for the circle shown in the sketch.  Tomorrow this card along with goodie bags for the granddaughters will go to the post office to begin their journey to the Midwest.

Thanks for stopping by tonight.  I am happy because it is almost the weekend.

Abby's Halloween Treat Bag

I love creating Halloween projects.  This year I wasn't sure how I was going to feel or if I would have the energy or inspiration to get crafty after having surgery on September30.  But I am finally feeling almost normal and I took advantage of my last couple of days off work this week to finish up my Halloween goodies for the grandkids.  This gift bag is for 8 year Abby and is filled with slime, candy, a note pad with a fox on it and a matching pen and there just might also be some cash. Grandma likes to spoils her grandkids.

I am entering this gift bag in the Monday challenge at Simon Says Stamp -- Treat Bag/Box.

Thanks for stopping by....smile -- it is almost Friday.

Celebrate 32

There are three of us in the family with August birthdays.....my youngest granddaughter, Izzy, myself and my beautiful daughter-in-law Amy. This year I reminded her and my son to PLEASE take pictures so I could make a birthday page for Amy's scrapbook.  I had never gotten any birthday pictures of her birthdays so I was excited when they sent me these of her opening up her gifts that we sent her.  We gave her a fabric steamer and a gift card so she could shop for something more personal but she was crazy about the steamer.  She loves little household appliances as gifts so I was glad I thought of the steamer for her. Do you like gifts for the house or giftcards? Some people do not like gift cards but I LOVE them. I think it is so much fun to shop on someone else's dime.

I used this awesome sketch by Laura Whitaker for Stuck? Sketches:

I turned the sketch 45 degrees to accommodate the vertical photos that I had.

Well that is about it for tonight....I am working on Halloween cards and tags so I will be back tomorrow to share some of those.  Thanks for stopping in.

CAS-ual Fridays 1 in 8

If you are looking for The Calling All Sistahs Blog Hop click HERE

Do you know that 1 in every 8 women in this country will get diagnosed with breast cancer?  I was one of them.  And even if you have not personally had the disease, we all know someone who this disease has touched. To celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness month Cas-ual Fridays is releasing some new stamp sets and as always, Michele the owner will donate 50% of the profits from the Breast Cancer series to breast cancer research.  The sentiment on this card is from the brand new release Word Ribbon set.

The challenge was to use 8 of something on your card....I used 8 sequins. I also used this sketch from the DCWV Stack-a-holic Challenge:

If you are interested in purchasing this set or any of the other CAS-ual Fridays stamp set here is the link for the shop. And tell Michele that Sandi sent you. :)

Calling All Sistahs October Blog Hop

When was the last time that a blog hop saved your life? Well the August 17th Cas-ual Fridays Blog Hop just very possibly did just that for me.  See, I was about 2 months late in scheduling my annual mammogram due to family vacations, co-workers vacations and just general busy-ness last summer. But on August 17th I saw that one of my favorite stamp companies, CAS-ual Fridays was having their monthly Calling All Sistahs Blog Hop.

The purpose of the monthly hop was to remind all of us to do breast self-exams and schedule our annual mammogram if we were due. I made my appointment that very day and a week later had a routine mammogram that ended up finding my very small (less than a centimeter) stage one breast cancer.  I received my diagnosis the first part of September and contacted Michele, the owner of CAS-ual Fridays for advice and support.  She told me about her experience and a relatively new procedure she had.  I researched the procedure, found a doctor about 2 hours away that did the intra-operative radiation therapy and on September 30th I had my lumpectomy and received a full dose of radiation at the time of surgery. My lymph nodes and all my margins came back clear and free of cancer and other than a 5 year round of hormone therapy, my cancer treatment is OVER.  I will be regularly screened for the rest of my life and I am completely confident that I will live a long and full life. Yes, I was one of the 1 in 8 but early detection helped me to become not only a cancer survivor but also a thriver. Life is good.

So to give back, I am going to participate in every Calling All Sistahs blog hops that I possibly can and remind every woman out there to do your self exams and go to your annual mammograms.

I used the HOPE  and Ruffled Ribbon die on this card along with the sentiment from the Hope Ribbon stamp set all of which are from Cas-ual Fridays.  Michele contributes 50% of the profits from these stamps to breast cancer research....isn't that awesome? If you want to do some shopping here is the link to the shop:

Dream Big Izzy

My youngest grandchild Izzy, turned 5 recently and I wanted to document the occasion.  What better time to remind her to Dream Big than on her birthday? My wish for all my grandchildren on their birthdays (and everyday) is that they dream big dreams and have all their dreams come true.

I am entering this page in Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge for October....Dream.

Thanks for stopping by my blog tonight.  And now we prepare for Hurricane Matthew.  We are right in the bullseye here and they tell us we may be without power for weeks.  So if I do not post on here for awhile, you will know why.

Doubly Inspired by a Sketch

This is the current sketch from My Favorite Things....it was love at first sight.  I was really hoping to create with it but with surgery last Friday I wasn't sure.  Fast forward to today.  I woke up this morning and for the first time since surgery, I felt REALLY good.  I am going back to work tomorrow but I knew I was going to get creative today with this sketch. I used it to create these TWO cards:

The thank you card is for a special lady at the hospital who went above and beyond to help me get my medical records a couple of weeks ago.  I dropped it off today along with a little jar of Trader Joe's Pumpkin Butter and it surprised her . The birthday card is for my grandson Cole who turns 11 on Friday. And believe me, he loves to ham it up and his favorite food is bacon so this sentiment is perfect for him.  Here is a picture of him and my hubby last summer on his fun trip here to Florida.

I am entering my cards in My Favorite Things Sketch 300 Challenge.

I am also entering these cards in Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge

Well I am going to check my emails and go to bed....I am going back to work tomorrow and after 5 days off and a bunch of half days before that, I can only imagine I am going to have a busy few days.
