Grade School Soccer

Just a quick post as we are busy getting ready to head off to the mountains of Colorado to spend a couple of days with my Dad.  Both of the boys played grade school sports and these pictures are from 1990 and 1991 (best as I can figure).  This is Adam and I now have one more page done in his album.  I used the Sketchy Thursdays 5.26 sketch which you can check out right HERE. I also entered it over at The Paper Variety because I just can't miss their fun weekly challenges.  This week was to create a project with a school theme...fun, fun, fun!!

Mom and Dad are Mean & a birthday card

I have been busy working on projects all day today and this is one of my favorites.  Matt posted these pictures on Facebook this week of my sweet little Abby crying because she wanted candy.  Her mean parents wouldn't give it to her.  How mean can you get? LOL  I just love the face and how Matt posted that "once the camera came out she REALLY started crying."  She IS her grandma's girl!  I used sketch #11 from the 14 Days of Sketches over at Artful Delight this month.  I love Leanne's kits and this is my second entry/attempt this month to win one! Check out all the wonderful inspiration over there and great kits for sale, too!

I also made this birthday card this weekend.  Have you noticed how trendy the chevron design is right now? I thought I would incorporate it into this fun birthday card so I could enter the chevron challenge over at Moxie Fab World.  The papers and sentiment are from Basic Grey Life of the party....aren't they fun?

Father's Day

I am going to see my Dad who lives in Colorado soon. Dave and I will take him out for a nice dinner but I also decided to make him a few items since he is so hard to buy for.  I made him this jar of spice rub that is awesome on pork, chicken and beef.  I made a tag for the jar which I also decorated and a matching card from the same papers which were Father and Son by Fancy Pants....the perfect papers for Father's Day projects.  The Paper Variety is having a star theme for their challenge this week so I am going to link this post up over there and see if I can win some scrapping goodies.

I also made him this scrapbook page that I am going to frame for him.  This picture was taken of us at my wedding in Vegas in 2003 (yes I wore a black dress!). I hope he likes this page as much as I do.  I consider myself lucky to have such an awesome relationship with my Dad.

Edited 6/15/15 to add: I am linking this up to Paper Issues current theme Mist-er Fix-It

It's a Girl!!

My brother-in-law and sister-in-law just found out they are having a girl.  Angelina is expected in October and when she is born she will join brothers Noah and Gabriel and there will be three children in the family under the age of four!  Bless Aaron and Cheri's hearts!  I am so excited for them and also glad that I am now in the grandchildren time of life!  To celebrate I attempted a clean and simple (CAS) card today and used my cuttle bug border folder for the first time along with the little embossed baby carriage and I really like it.  I just wish I had stamped the sentiment in a pinkish purple chalkbox ink that I found AFTER I already stamped it in brown.  I really need to organize my supplies better so I know what I have available and easily accessible.  Any ideas you want to share on how you store/organize your stamps, inks and ribbon?  Those are my three things that I am really looking to organize right now.

Challenges entered:
Wee Memories Stamp It Challenge (I stamped the sentiment)
CAS-ual Fridays Bring the Bling (I used small silver pearls on the buggy wheels)
More Than Favors Wacky Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge

Mother

I really do not have many pictures of my Mom who passed away 11 years ago last month but I love this one of my mom as a young girl.  I estimate this picture to be from 1947 when Mom was 11 years old.  She would have been 75 years old this year and I really miss her.

Challenges entered: Artful Delight May sketch challenge

Coloring Easter Eggs with Abby

I love Facebook.  Not only does it allow me to keep in touch with family and reconnect with long lost friends, I can also grab the pictures my sons post of themselves and the grandkids and use them for my scrapbook pages.  These two pictures were recently posted on Facebook by Abby's daddy Matt, promptly uploaded by me to Walgreens and printed out.  What could be better?  I used the right side of this week's double page sketch from Sketchy Thursday along with my Echo Park Playground papers.  The adorable bunny and his house is from my good friend Suzanne.  I think it adds the perfect touch to the page.

I am also entering this page over at the sticker challenge at Wee Memoires.  Jenny at Wee Memories is about to break the 1400 follower mark!  So awesome, Jenny!!  If you have not seen her blog, or tried a challenge there you really should- have a look right here!

Ironman and Jacob

My son Adam has always loved comic books and the heroes in them.  It is no surprise that his sons Jacob and Cole also love Superheroes.  Three years ago on a trip in to Chicago Dave and I picked Jake up from his Montesorri preschool and took him to see Horton Hears a Who.  Jacob saw this poster for the upcoming movie "Ironman" that was coming out the next day and asked me to take his picture in front of the giant poster.  How cute is this picture?  I just had to make a cute page with it so I used the current sketch at Frosted Designs.  I am also entering it at the Movie Theme challenge this week at The Paper Variety and over at one of my very favorite challenge blogs -- Wee Memories for their sticker challenge which you can check out HERE.
