Kid (Cole) in a Candy Store

My grandson Cole not only loves candy he also LOVES hamming it up for the camera!  And I love to scrap the adorable pictures my son (his dad) posts on Facebook.  I used a variety of stuff in my stash and this sketch from Boys Rule:

I am not only entering it in the August sketch challenges at Boys Rule Scrapbook Kits but also linking it up at Paper Issues Tag You're It theme.

Call Me Maybe

When I showed Dave this page last night he said "Wow! That's an old picture of Abby!  She was 17 months old in this picture and is now 4 1/2 so she has really grown up.  But she always was and still is my beautiful wonderful little granddaughter.  Frosted Designs has a fun theme/challenge this week and it is to scrap something relating to a cell phone.  When I saw that challenge I knew I had the perfect picture to use.  I used American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neopolitan papers for the most part with just a few touches of Amy Tangerine (also from American Crafts.) I am also entering this page in Moxie Fab's Jars of Joy challenge.  You can see some awesome Mason jar inspired projects and details on the challenger HERE.  I also used this sketch from Let's Get Sketchy:

I am taking part in a wonderful challenge this month called 30 in 30 to create 30 layouts in the 30 days of September.  I am tracking right along as this is #12.  Thanks for the wonderful comments and checking out my blog.  If you are not a follower please sign up so I can have a giveaway when I reach 150 followers.  Thanks!

Boy-Barians

My grandsons Jacob and Cole are not barbarians (or "Boy-barians"if you will) in the least.  The are for the most part pretty well behaved and polite boys but after all they ARE boys!  LOL  I love that this picture captured that side of Cole's personality.  I love this Miss Caroline collection by My Mind's Eye and the warm country feel the papers have.  I used another awesome sketch by Jenny Evans for Boys Rule:

I am also entering this page in Scrap Fit's Workout #31....to use patterned paper for the background.  For the longest time I was afraid to use anything but cardstock for my background but I have gotten reckless lately and I LOVE the result.  Now I RARELY use cardstock.

Trick or Treat

I love these papers and embellishments from My Minds Eye...they have just the slightest bit of glitter on them.  I am NOT a glitter girl at all although I will use a small amount of glittered products on occasion.  The photos are from Halloween 2011 when Adam took his boys trick or treating downtown Valparaiso and over to the university dorms.  The boys got lots of candy and had a good time.
I used the 8/31 sketch from Boys Rule....another great one by Jenny Evans.  Gosh, I love her sketches!

I am also entering this page in a new challenge blog's first challenge -- Cut It Up's Anything Goes. I love that little die cut banner that says "Boo!"  Thanks for checking out my creation and my blog.

55

Sammy Hagar has a song called "I Can't Drive 55".  Well I can't believe I turned 55 last month! I still feel (and think) like I am in my 30's but occasionally when I wake up in the morning I can tell I am not so young anymore!  Anyway, while in North Carolina the end of July visiting my husband's brother Aaron and his wife Cheri and their 3 kids, they surprised me with an homemade beautiful and yummy cheesecake/birthday cake and presents.  It was a wonderful surprise seeing that it was about 10 days before my birthday and Cheri took this picture that was perfect to scrap the event.

I used Basic Grey's Olivia collection and their 9/3 sketch:

And that "ticket" banner?  I made that out of the pictures on the cover sheet of the collection showing what papers were in the package.  I cut out the samples of the papers and used my hole punch on the corners.  Nifty way to make my own unique embellishment, huh?

Happy Summer Days

I love the Project Life style pages that are being done lately by so many in the scrapbooking community recently and thought I would try my hand at one.  I used papers and embellies from Simple Stories 100 Days of Summer and Summer Fresh along with my new Lawn Fawn stamp set and my new (to me) notebook punch.  Don't you LOVE playing with new goodies?

The page is documenting my grandchildren from our recent visit with them....boy, I miss them already.  I am entering this page in 2 challenges:

Scrap It Girl challenge (can you find the twine, birds, circles, arrows and color red???)
and
Color Creations Recipe Challenge for the everyday life theme, have numbers on it & at least 3 stars)

Hot Summer days

I love these Imaginisce papers and embellies from their recent Makin' Waves collection.  The monthly challenge over at their BLOG is a fun one and one I wanted to enter.  The challenge was to use:
2 photos (the cute picture of Abby/snorkle & the one of Abby and Dave)
chevron  (the borders at the top and bottom)
2 embellishments (the girl in the swimsuit and my title is also out of the embellishment pack)
and
2 patterned papers (my background paper and the pink polka dot paper)
