She Adjusted Her Sails

I have been very inspired by Jennifer McGuire's challenge to brighten someone's day by sending something handmade to them.  So last night I decided to make this pretty card for my daughter-in-law Amy.  Amy lost her mom to cancer three months ago and I just want her to know that I love her and I am here for her.  Even though "here" is 1000 miles away. The sentiment stamp I used is from Verve Stamps and this beautiful sketch is from their card sketch challenge sit -- Viva La Verve also.

I just flipped the sketch 90 degrees.  In addition to the card sketch challenge I am also entering this card over at the Anything Goes Tuesday Challenge at the Cat's Pajamas.

Thanks for stopping by today.

You Totally Rock -- Reyna's Birthday card

There is a precious little girl in our family named Reyna and she is turning 9 next week.  My niece and her husband Dan are raising her and she is a real sweetheart.  I wanted to make her a fun card and I will tuck in a little gift card too.  Because you know, all girls, young and old love to shop.

I used one of my favorite stamp sets from Sugar Pea Designs and this sketch of theirs:

Have you seen Jennifer McGuire's latest project?  You can check it out HERE

I firmly believe in brightening someone's day with something handmade which is why I make so many cards.  I never have much of a stash either because mine tend to go out as soon as I make them.  Maybe someday when I retire I will be able to make cards faster than I send them out.  One more reason that I am counting the time impatiently until I retire. (4.5 years left to work)

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge.

I encourage you to make something handmade this week and give it to a family member or a friend who needs a little pick-me-up.  It will pick you up, too.

Crazy Cool Dude

Last night and tonight I came home from work and got creative with a sketch each night from Laura Whitaker for Boys Rule Scrapbooking. This picture of my grandson Cole is over 2 years old but I realized that I had never scrapped it.  And he is just so cute with his attitude bustin' out all over, I had to document it.

I used the September sketch from Boys Rule.

I am so glad I got a chance to enter both the September and October sketch challenges before the deadline.

It's Friday tomorrow and I can hardly wait!  We are going to paint the guestroom a very nautical gray and navy blue.  What is on your agenda??

My Father, My Friend

Here is another work night layout that I was able to do.  I thought about this one at work today and even came up with a title.  I came home and knocked it out in about an hour.  I love making pages for Jacob's scrapbook because at 14 years old he doesn't always like to be in pictures.  I have many more pictures of his brother and cousins to scrap then of him.

I used this sketch from Boys Rule Scrapbooking:

Thanks for stopping by...we are over the hump and only 2 more days to the weekend.

Ten Thirty-One

Last night after work, I really was in the mood to get creative and I created 2 Halloween scrapbook pages for my granddaughters' album.  These pictures were from last year (2014) when Abby and Izzy went as a cat and a mouse (Minnie Mouse actually) For this page I used this sketch from Page Maps:

I am entering this page in the Picture This October 1st Challenge which was to use 3 photos + chipboard + stamps.  The stamps I used are the two adorable Paper Smooches sentiments on my journaling tag...they say "You're Bootiful" and "You Are Faboolous!"  I just thought those were the perfect stamps to use on this page.  I rarely think to use stamps on my pages and I am so glad for this challenge to give me that little creative nudge.

Thanks for stopping by my blog....smile it is almost the weekend.

Hello Fall

We live in Florida where we have 2 seasons almost summer and summer.  There is very little changing colors and signs of fall here.  But recently we made a weekend trip to North Carolina and enjoyed the beginnings of their fall season.  I was able to break out my sweaters and go to a pumpkin patch. We also went out to the Yates Mill near Raleigh and took some breathtaking photos.  I decided to make a collage of some of the weekend photos and pair it up with these gorgeous papers from the Cocoa Daisy Main Kit.  I used this awesome sketch from Paper Issues:

I am also entering this page in Clique Kits October Anything Goes Challenge
and
Cocoa Daisy's Foxy Selfie Challenge

I hope you are enjoying fall wherever you are....and don't forget to document it!
