Making Spirits Bright -- Christmas in July #1

Happy July! And if it is July, you know what that means....Christmas in July and I begin to start creating my Christmas for this Christmas. I need 70-80 cards to send and I make each one different so it is quite the process. I really enjoy working on them during the heat of the summer here in Florida. For this card I use Sketch #67 from Your Next Stamp and my favorite YNS stamp set....Ellie Loves Latte. Here is the sketch:

You Are Mer-Mazing

I have had these awesome papers from Doodlebug for a couple of years and I was afraid I was never going to get the right photos to use with them.  But when my granddaughters come down here to Florida last month for vacation I got some pictures finally that I will be able to scrap with this awesome collection.  Nine-year old Abby had a blast in the ocean and I just love this photo of her. I used Sketch #308 from Creative Scrappers:

My Favorite Things Sketch #339

It is very nice to have a day off in the middle of the work week.  It would have been nicer to have had a 4 day weekend but we just got back from an 18 day vacation so we worked yesterday to give some of our co-workers a long weekend. I plan on lounging today and doing a great deal of crafting. I started this card last night and finished it this morning. I used the Happy Pandas stamp set and this sketch #339 from My Favorite Things:

I also used some of an older but my favorite boy collection -- Rad by Simple Stories. I am literally down to bits and pieces of that collection left but plan on using every. single. scrap. Because I am using some older papers, I am entering it in the challenge to use old paper from

Izzy & the Wiggly Tooth

This turned out to be quite the story from our family vacation. 5 year old Izzy discovered a wiggly tooth during the first part of our 18 day family vacation and it kept getting looser and looser while they were down here in Florida. It finally fell out while we were having lunch at Cinderella's Royal Table in the castle in the Magic Kingdom. The tooth fairy even found Izzy in our room at the Art of Animation that night and left her $5!! I used this fab sketch from Freckled Fawn:

All my embellishments, the glittery stars, the puffy stickers and the chipboard phrases are all from Freckled Fawn. I am entering their sketch challenge with this page.

Little Girls Dreams are Magical Things



I raised two boys. My first two grandchildren were boys so imagine my delight when my older son had two of the smartest, most beautiful little girls in the world. They were out here recently on vacation and we had a wonderful time.  But let me tell you, there is DRAMA with little girls!!! Oy vay! But nothing that we couldn't deal with....actually at times I found it amusing. My son, however, does not.


I love watching babies and children sleep. I saw the quote I used for my title on a journaling card this week and I knew just the picture I took last week that I wanted to use. I used this sketch and am entering it in the Stuck Sketches sketch challenge.

That is it for now....I have been feeling very creative lately so I will probably be back to share another project soon.

Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop #8

Well I am back again with my 8th card for the Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop. I made this card this evening after working and thinking about what I was going to make all day. I do not always like all my cards (I am my own worse critic) but I am happy with this one.

I saw a new challenge today at Tuesday Throwdown to use a creative border. I thought on it awhile and decided to make my own border with the negative space after I die cut the word "coffee" from along the bottom od my yellow cardstock. I then backed it up with navy blue cardstock so the border would really pop.

I used this sketch from Newton's Nook and I am entering this card in their Inky Paws Challenge #49:

I used a sweet little stamp that I won in a previous Coffee Lovers Bloghop from Stamplorations called  Coffee For All Seasons. I embellished one of the coffee cups with a sweet little hibiscus puffy sticker to make it that much more summery. I am entering this card in the Stamplorations Never Ending Anything Goes Challenge
