Pretty Purple Shaker Card

I guess challenges are supposed to be challenging. When I saw the CAS-UAL Fridays Shaker Card Challenge, I decided to skip it. You see, I have made a couple of shaker cards before and they were complete fails. However I thought my soon-to-be 6 year old niece might really like one and I bought this stamp set from CAS-UAL Fridays just for her birthday so last night I gave it a try. I also am not very good with the watercolors but I broke those out too and this happened:

I embossed the ballerina image in black then I just put a little puddle of water  around the ballerina, added the purple watercolor and flicked a few sprinkles. I was careful not to overdo...which is often my worst habit. Then I watched about 14 You Tube videos on assembling a shaker card and was able to put this one together. I added some large purple cupped metal sequins which are actually a bit too large and get stuck as you shake it but other than that I am happy with the final result.

Since I used those dang metal sequins I am going to enter this in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Heavy Metal Challenge in addition I am entering this card in
Well that is it for now. I hope you had a good weekend....we had a soggy wet one. I hope it stops raining soon as the water is raising and I may have to start building an ark...lol

First Day of School

I hated to do it but I must admit that I nagged, prodded and repeatedly reminded my son to take first day of school pictures this year. My son is a single dad raising 2 girls and well, you know sometimes men just do not remember things like taking pictures. He is usually pretty good at taking pictures however and he did get a few pictures that I was able to use for pages in the girls' scrapbooks. I also included a picture of Izzy with her school haircut on her page as she looked so cute in her new bobbed cut.

I used this sketch from Sketch N Scrap:

I stayed pretty true to the sketch but the page looked full enough to me so I left off the cute banner in the upper left hand corner. I am also entering this page in the Tic Tac Toe Challenge from

I went diagonally starting at cork - ruler - circle.

Thanks for stopping by my blog....September sure has gone by quickly. I always look forward to October for some cooler weather here in Florida and time to start my Halloween crafting....one of my favorite past times.

Magical Memories

Work is continuing on my Disney album. I love the way this page turned out and a big part of it is because of the awesome sketch I used from Stuck? Sketches:

Thank you for stopping by tonight. I worked on another page tonight....this one was a back to school page for one of the grands so I stepped away from Disney for a couple of day. I have plans for another page tomorrow night....after my 12 hour day and an hour at the gym. I sure hope I am up to it.

You Nailed It

I can hardly believe that my grandson Cole is going to be 12 years old next weekend. It actually makes me want to cry....children grow up so fast and grandchildren even faster it seems. He is such an awesome kid and so much fun to be around, I hope he will still want to hang out with me for a couple more years when I am in town visiting. I made a unique card for him today and it took quite awhile to complete. The current challenge at Tuesday Throwdown is More Than One Fold so I made a three part card. I am not sure if there is a name for this type of card but if you count the front of the card (pictured above) there are four panels on it. It wasn't easy to photograph but here are a couple of photos to give you an idea of how it is designed:

And here is the card fully opened:

I used a brand new stencil from My Favorite Things to make the brick wall background and the images and sentiments are from a Never Before Used stamp set by Avery Elle called Stoked. I bought the set because Cole is a skateboarder and a snowboarder. There is a snowboarder image in this stamp set that I will be using to make Cole's Christmas card this year. So since I am using some Never Before Used Schtuff, I am entering this card in Darnell's NBUS challenge.

And one final challenge I am entering is the Wednesday Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes challenge.

That is about it for today. Thank you for stopping by to check out my creations.

Seafood Feast

I am working on the Disney album for my son and granddaughters and hope to have it done in time to send to them with their Christmas packages. I am really enjoying working on these pages as I am doing them pretty much in chronological order and have never really scrapped that way. Above you can see both pages together of this 2 page layout. I used this month's double page sketch from

I was documenting our first night at Disney World. We took a boat from the Animal Kingdom across Lake Buena Vista to the Disney Beach Resort for dinner at the Cape May Café. It was a Seafood Buffet and it was outstanding. Here is a photo of each of the pages separately....this is the left page:

And this is the right hand page:

Let me tell you....those crab legs were to die for!! And our little Izzy got to have her favorite....
chicken nuggets and French fries. It was an awesome evening and a cherished memory.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

All You Need Is Love.....

I am back with my final card for the Fall Coffee Lovers Bloghop.

I used a brand new to me stamp from Latina Crafters on this card and this Sunday Sip And Share Sketch from Kerry Urbatch on the Coffee Loving Papercrafters Blog:

I am also having a little giveaway at the end of this bloghop. Just comment on any or all of my coffee bloghop post and you could win this prize:

I used one of the puffy coffee cups from my set of the Freckled Fawn coffee to go cups. I love mine so much that I ordered an extra set to give away. I will use random.org to choose a winner Sunday night and I will post it shortly thereafter.

Thank you so much for the sweet comments and for visiting my blog. I am humbled that you would take time out of your day to check out my creations. Have a wonderful weekend.
