Happy Birthday #11

My oldest granddaughter is turning 11 next week and although I was home sick today and feeling quite lethargic, I pushed myself to make this card for her and I am pleased with the way it turned out.

I used this fun sketch from Sketch-n-Scrap and am entering it in their February challenges....slipping it right in under the wire in fact.

I used 2 stamp sets from Your Next Stamp.....the koala image is from Kyle the Koala Bear and this is my first time inking him up......isn't he absolutely adorable?? The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Little Darling Mermaid set. I have stars on my paper and few puffy sticker stars so I am entering this card in the Fun Friday Challenge #108 over at Your Next Stamp....Seeing Stars

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge.
Well that is it for now....I am not feeling well so I think I will go to bed a bit early. I sure hope this cold and flu season is over soon.

Get Stuff Done -- Week 7

This is the second year I have been documenting my weekly favorite moments and this year I am using a traveler's notebook which is a brand new experience for me. It took a little getting used to the smaller size canvas...I am typically a 12x12 scrapbooker but I really am loving it. I was extra excited to find a new monthly challenge just for TN memory keepers. It is called
TN Time With Lisa and Lori and features a sketch by Lisa and a challenge from Lori. Here is the current awesome sketch that I used:

I found the clipboard notecard in my stash and was very excited to use it on this sketch. Lori's challenge was to include someone and/or something that I love and to include at least one heart. Well I used a picture of my hubby painting our house....I love the home we have built together and of course, I am CRAZY about my husband. This one spread qualifies for both Lisa's Challenge which can be found HERE and Lori's challenge on her blog My Happy Life.

That is about it for now....thank you for checking out my blog.

To a Special Couple

Just popping in for a quick minute before be to share this sweet Valentine card I made for a fun challenge.

I always want to enter a card at Newton's Nook Inky Paws Challenge and time usually gets away from me....but I got it done this time. I got create and used a Christmas stamp for this challenge. I added a Happy Valentine's Day sticker from my stash and the sentiment "to a special couple" and I think it works just fine for this upcoming holiday. If you want to play along ....hurry, the deadline is tomorrow. You can see all the details HERE

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Just For You! Happy Valentines Day

I had fun making the alcohol ink background for this card. I love the color combo of red, pink and silver. I think I will send this card to my in-laws. My mother-in-law told me recently that she has saved every hand made card that I have ever sent them. That made me feel awesome.

I found and used this sketch from Sketch-n-Scrap. It was perfect for what I had envisioned for this card. I am entering it in their January challenges.

That is it for tonight. I hope you have been keeping warm. Today was even cold (relatively) here in Florida.

Will You Be My Valentine?

I love making Valentines....and right now I am knee deep in making them. I worked two evenings on this one for my son's girlfriend and have come to the conclusion that I do not like coloring hedgehogs...at least not until I improve my Copic coloring skills. But I think Steff will like it. I used this great sketch by Lisa Hidy for Sketch-n-Scrap:

I am entering this card in the Sketch-n-Scrap sketch challenge
and
Tuesday Throwdown's #424 Anything Goes Challenge

That is it for now.....thanks for stopping by my blog. Stay warm!!

Here is a sweet little card that I made for some friends of ours. Those adorable elephants and sentiments as well as the papers and the dies used to cut out the elephants are all from Lawn Fawn. I was inspired by their Lots of Love Challenge:

I am entering this card in this Challenge #45 -- Lots of Love. There is plenty of time for you to play along too!

Thanks for dropping in....hope you enjoyed your weekend.
