Little Girls Dreams are Magical Things

I raised two boys. My first two grandchildren were boys so imagine my delight when my older son had two of the smartest, most beautiful little girls in the world. They were out here recently on vacation and we had a wonderful time.  But let me tell you, there is DRAMA with little girls!!! Oy vay! But nothing that we couldn't deal with....actually at times I found it amusing. My son, however, does not.

I love watching babies and children sleep. I saw the quote I used for my title on a journaling card this week and I knew just the picture I took last week that I wanted to use. I used this sketch and am entering it in the Stuck Sketches sketch challenge.

That is it for now....I have been feeling very creative lately so I will probably be back to share another project soon.

Thanks for popping in.

Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop #8

Well I am back again with my 8th card for the Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop. I made this card this evening after working and thinking about what I was going to make all day. I do not always like all my cards (I am my own worse critic) but I am happy with this one.

I saw a new challenge today at Tuesday Throwdown to use a creative border. I thought on it awhile and decided to make my own border with the negative space after I die cut the word "coffee" from along the bottom od my yellow cardstock. I then backed it up with navy blue cardstock so the border would really pop.

I used this sketch from Newton's Nook and I am entering this card in their Inky Paws Challenge #49:

I used a sweet little stamp that I won in a previous Coffee Lovers Bloghop from Stamplorations called  Coffee For All Seasons. I embellished one of the coffee cups with a sweet little hibiscus puffy sticker to make it that much more summery. I am entering this card in the Stamplorations Never Ending Anything Goes Challenge

But....getting back to the Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop -- I am really excited about this bloghop...there are 77 sponsors and TONS of prizes, inspiration and freebies. Just enter a summer themed, coffee themed card on THIS post for a chance to enter. And do not forget to check out all the other entries...many have blog candy. And speaking blog candy....I have a small blog candy prize. I recently won a prize from Latina Crafters I got an extra stamp to give away along with a package of my favorite post it notes ever from Cocoa Daisy. To be eligible to win this little prize just enter a card in the hop and leave the number of your entry in a comment on this or any other of my summer coffee lovers blog hop posts. I will pick and post a winner on Sunday evening July 2. Here is the prize I am offering:

Well, that is it for tonight....I will be trying to make another coffee themed card tomorrow night after work so if I succeed, I will meet you back here about the same time.

Thanks for dropping in.

This Girl Is On Fire

This time last week we were enjoying our summer vacation with my son and our granddaughters.  It was a wonderful time of making memories that I hope will last a lifetime for Abby and Izzy.  One thing that 9 year Abby wanted to do for some time now has been to go fishing. While they were here in Florida, I asked my sister and her husband who were also here visiting my Dad if they would take her fishing as they are experienced fisherpeople.  They gladly accepted and Abby had a blast catching 9 fish...including a shark!

I used this awesome sketch from Scrap Our Stash:

Part of the challenge was to use stash items to spell out S-U-M-M-E-R. Here is what I used:
S - string on the tags
U - uniball pen for the white doodling
M - metal flair "Best Day Ever"
M - mini-alphas
E - Echo Park (Summer Party collection)
R - ruled tag

I have so many pictures from the last 2 weeks that I will have plenty of memories to scrap for the next several months.

Thanks for stopping by tonight.

Happy Birthday Dad *85*

My Dad recently turned 85 and we took him out to one of his favorite place....Maggiano's.  It was a wonderful day celebrating his milestone birthday so I just had to document the day on this page. I used this awesome sketch from Rochelle Spears' blog:

I am entering this page in Rochelle's June Rewind Sketch Challenge

Well it is late and I need to hit the sheets but I did get a chance to create a pretty girly page tonight and provided the rain will stop here in Florida long enough to photograph my page after work tomorrow, I will share it tomorrow night.  Thanks for stopping by.

Summer Coffee Lovers Bloghop #7

Back again with my 7th card of the bloghop. I am really enjoying myself, in case you haven't noticed.  This time I decided to use a rather patriotic color palette because the 4th of July is coming up and that is always one of the highlights of my summer....I just love cookouts and fireworks.

I used this color challenge from My Favorite Things.

I used their sentiment as well....I just love punny sentiments. You can see more details about their challenge HERE.  You still have plenty of time to whip up an entry yourself as there is still a week left in the challenge.

I used this great sketch from Kerry Urbatch for the Sunday Coffee Lovers Sip and Share feature on the blog:

I am entering this card in that sketch challenge also. One last challenge I am entering with this card is the Simon Say Stamp Work It Wednesday Challenge which is to use a summery image....mine is the red, white and blue iced latte cup.

Thanks for stopping by.

Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful

I just spent 2 weeks with this beautiful little girl pictured in the above scrapbook page. And her sister, daddy, cousins and uncle.  It was glorious to see my family and make memories with them that will hopefully last a lifetime. So now I begin documenting them and this is the first page that I created. I took this picture just this past Tuesday at our resort in Disney World and I think it shows off my lil' Izzy's natural beauty and her inner sparkle as well.  I used PhotoPlay Like A Girl collection and this awesome sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap:

That is it for today....this was my third post of the day.  I have been busy in my scraproom since I got back from vacation.  But I have another layout planned out in my head so please check back with me tomorrow to see what I have been up to.

Rise and Shine -- Farewell Mojo Monday

The above sketch is #500 from Julee Tilman.  With this sketch she is ceasing the Mojo Monday sketch challenge blog.  I understand completely and support her reasons for doing so but I am sad to see this sketch blog go away.  When I first started making cards I stumbled onto the Mojo Monday blog and loved Julee's sketches.  They have been my go-to sketch for years now. So even though I have my son and granddaughters here on vacation, I had to use this sketch and make this card as a way to thank Julee for all the inspiration she has given me.  And if she keeps her blog up, I will continue to turn to her sketches for inspiration.  This is my card using one of Julee's free digital sentiments. (She is as generous as she is talented)

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp May Work It Wednesday.

So there you have the final card for the Mojo Monday challenge....but definitely the final card using your sketches. I am glad Julee will still be running Verve stamps which are the makers of some of the most beautifl, fun and uplifting stamps on the market. I need to start building up my collection of them.  Thank you Julee for all you have done in the card-making industry! I wish you many years of prosperity in your business and in your family.

Her Protector

My sweet little Izzy and her pup Titan are nearly inseparable.  And Titan is VERY protective of her. I just love this picture of them and I knew I wanted to scrap it right away.  Everything on this page is from my old stash...and some of it has been around quite awhile. I used this sketch from
Stuck? Sketches:

I am also entering this in the Scrap Our Stash Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge:

I went straight down the left hand row and used red, a camera (sticker) and wood (the wood heart)

That is for this weekend....vacation is coming up nearly the end of this weekend. What are YOU looking forward to??

Happy Birthday Cheri

I have had this felt ice cream cone embellishment in my stash forever and decided to make an ice cream themed birthday card for my sister-in-law. I had the perfect papers from Doodlebug and along with the Simon Says Stamp HAPPY die and a stamp from Paper Smooches in a cute font, I was able to assemble this card in no time at all. The sketch that helped me put it all together was from the 5th birthday bash at Sketch-N-Scrap:

I am entering this card in the CAS-ual Fridays Use Those Pattern Papers challenge

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge

Well, thank you for stopping by to check out my blog.  I am up early this morning because we are going deep sea fishing...how fun is that?? Hope you have fun today also.

Have a Beautiful Day

I love the sentiment in the stamp set from My Favorite Things and decided to showcase it on this card. I found this awesome sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap:

I am entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge.

Well the weekend is just beginning....hope yours is fun and relaxing.
