First Day of School

I hated to do it but I must admit that I nagged, prodded and repeatedly reminded my son to take first day of school pictures this year. My son is a single dad raising 2 girls and well, you know sometimes men just do not remember things like taking pictures. He is usually pretty good at taking pictures however and he did get a few pictures that I was able to use for pages in the girls' scrapbooks. I also included a picture of Izzy with her school haircut on her page as she looked so cute in her new bobbed cut.

I used this sketch from Sketch N Scrap:

I stayed pretty true to the sketch but the page looked full enough to me so I left off the cute banner in the upper left hand corner. I am also entering this page in the Tic Tac Toe Challenge from

I went diagonally starting at cork - ruler - circle.

Thanks for stopping by my blog....September sure has gone by quickly. I always look forward to October for some cooler weather here in Florida and time to start my Halloween crafting....one of my favorite past times.

Magical Memories

Work is continuing on my Disney album. I love the way this page turned out and a big part of it is because of the awesome sketch I used from Stuck? Sketches:

Thank you for stopping by tonight. I worked on another page tonight....this one was a back to school page for one of the grands so I stepped away from Disney for a couple of day. I have plans for another page tomorrow night....after my 12 hour day and an hour at the gym. I sure hope I am up to it.

You Nailed It

I can hardly believe that my grandson Cole is going to be 12 years old next weekend. It actually makes me want to cry....children grow up so fast and grandchildren even faster it seems. He is such an awesome kid and so much fun to be around, I hope he will still want to hang out with me for a couple more years when I am in town visiting. I made a unique card for him today and it took quite awhile to complete. The current challenge at Tuesday Throwdown is More Than One Fold so I made a three part card. I am not sure if there is a name for this type of card but if you count the front of the card (pictured above) there are four panels on it. It wasn't easy to photograph but here are a couple of photos to give you an idea of how it is designed:

And here is the card fully opened:

I used a brand new stencil from My Favorite Things to make the brick wall background and the images and sentiments are from a Never Before Used stamp set by Avery Elle called Stoked. I bought the set because Cole is a skateboarder and a snowboarder. There is a snowboarder image in this stamp set that I will be using to make Cole's Christmas card this year. So since I am using some Never Before Used Schtuff, I am entering this card in Darnell's NBUS challenge.

And one final challenge I am entering is the Wednesday Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes challenge.

That is about it for today. Thank you for stopping by to check out my creations.

Seafood Feast

I am working on the Disney album for my son and granddaughters and hope to have it done in time to send to them with their Christmas packages. I am really enjoying working on these pages as I am doing them pretty much in chronological order and have never really scrapped that way. Above you can see both pages together of this 2 page layout. I used this month's double page sketch from

I was documenting our first night at Disney World. We took a boat from the Animal Kingdom across Lake Buena Vista to the Disney Beach Resort for dinner at the Cape May Café. It was a Seafood Buffet and it was outstanding. Here is a photo of each of the pages separately....this is the left page:

And this is the right hand page:

Let me tell you....those crab legs were to die for!! And our little Izzy got to have her favorite....
chicken nuggets and French fries. It was an awesome evening and a cherished memory.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Fall Breeze, Autumn Leaves.....

I am back with the other card I made this evening for the Fall Coffee Lovers Bloghop.

I used a digital set that I bought from Verve Stamps at a bargain price and I just LOVE the sentiments and images that Julee Tillman has included. I was also greatly inspired by this card sketch from
Sketch N Scrap (and I am entering it in their sketch challenge):

I popped up the sentiment panel and the coffee cup with some dimensional tape so I am entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Pop It Up Challenge.

I am also offering blog candy to a random commenter on my Coffee Lovers Bloghop posts. Here is what I will be offering:

AND, if you tell me which of the cards I made that is your favorite...I will include that card with your prize. The winner will be randomly picked and announced on Sunday evening 9/24. See you then (or maybe before is I have another new project to share.)

Salted Carmel Wishes

I got crafty after dinner tonight and knocked out 2 cards. I have enjoyed the free digitals stamps for a couple of years that Julee Tilman has been creating and giving away during the quarterly Coffee Lovers Bloghops. This year she offered a gorgeous set for an amazing price of $3.50. I just had to purchase them. This sentiment is from that set. That sweet little coffee cup wood veneer is from Latina Crafters....I love her stand and embellishments and she is one of the Super Sponsors of the hop.

I used the card sketch from the Sketch N Scrap's Back To School Crop

There is still a little over 24 hours left in the Fall Coffee Lovers Bloghop. I am entering this card and the other one I made tonight. I hope to create 2 more tomorrow night. There are awesome prizes and blog candy as well as some breath taking coffee themed projects. There is just so much talent out there. Check it out HERE

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Pop It Up Challenge because I popped up my tag and sentiment with dimensional tape.

I also an giving away a small prize to a random commenter from all the comments on my Coffee Lovers blog posts. Here is what you can win:

I will randomly choose a wnner on Sunday night from all the commenters and post it. Good luck and thank you in advance for all of your sweet comments.

Sending You a Latte Birthday Wishes

I made another card tonight for the Fall Coffee Lovers Bloghop....the prizes, blog candy offering and project are off the chain this time. I hope you can check it out and make some something to enter or just take in all the eye candy. Go HERE for all the details.

This card is for my niece's husband in North Carolina so in addition to a fall theme, I also wanted it to have sports/football feel to it as well.

I used this card sketch from Sketch N Scrap:

I have a little giveaway for you also, just to make this a little more fun. Comment on this post for a chance to win or comment on all my Coffee Lovers Bloghop posts for more chances to win this little prize:

I love those puffy coffee cups from Freckled Fawn so I ordered an extra set recently and I am pairing them up with my last set of coffee to go cup sticky notes from Cocoa Daisy. I will shoes and post a winner after the bloghop on Sunday 9/24.

I am tired so I am going to go to bed. After work tomorrow we are going to the gym and then the Assisted Living to see my Dad and drop off some items he wants me to pick up. But I have plans to come home, shower, make a protein smoothie and make a card. If I am successful at getting everything done, I will be back tomorrow just before bed to post my card. See you then.

Thank You

I have a masculine birthday card that I need to make this week and was going to work on that tonight but I got distracted by some beautiful butterfly stamps that I had never played with before from My Favorite Things and before you know it this happened:

I used this awesome sketch of theirs:

I am entering it in their sketch challenge and in
Pixie's Snippets Playground.....she has an awesome couple of prizes including a Lawn Fawn stamp that I would like to play for. I just cannot resist those adorable Lawn Fawn stamps! And some stitched circle dies....who doesn't need those? My blue paper and those black strips on this card literally came out of my scrap heap (or snippets as I would call them)

Well I am definitely going to bed now...it is late and I did not sleep well last night. I hope tonight is better. Thanks for popping in and checking out my blog.

Fall Coffee Lover Lovers Bloghop Card #2

I am back again with another card for the Fall Coffee Lovers Bloghop. I used a digital freebie from

Those little puffy coffee cups from Freckled Fawn are some of my favorites little embellishments. I am on my second package of them. When I ordered my second package, I ordered an extra to give away for this blog hop. Included is my last package of coffee cup shaped sticky notes from Cocoa Daisy....love these. Autumn Blessings

It is that time again....time for the Coffee Lovers Bloghop. This one is the fall edition and oh my! what gorgeous cards are being linked up. Amy Tsuruta works very hard on these bloghops and they are something I really look forward to with some great prizes from awesome sponsors just as the frosting on the cake.
I am just a bit late to the party thanks to good ol' Hurricane Irma. I usually start making cards at least a week ahead of time but I was not able to do that this time. We were hit hard by the storm last Sunday night into Monday morning. Let me tell you, it is a very scary thing to have a powerful hurricane hit your area during the night. My hubby was sound asleep and I was wide awake literally shaking in our bed. I heard his cell phone go off with a tornado warning for us and pow! we were hit by either a micro-burst or a weak tornado and it ripped all the shingles off the south side of our roof. That part of the roof just happens to be over my scraproom so I am very grateful that we did not get any water intrusion. But we were without power until Friday night and needless to say until today, there was no time for creativity. I did get into my scraproom today and created this card with the awesome Viva La Verve sketch from Julee Tilman at Verve Stamps:

The sentiment and coffee cup image are digital stamps that Julee designed and created as well....what a talented lady.
I am offering some blog candy for one of the commenters on my blog posts this week (yes....this bloghop runs through Friday 9/22) Just leave me a comment and I will pick and post a winner next Sunday 9/24/17. Here is my prize I am offering:

That is it for tonight....I need to get to bed. We are exceptionally busy at work because as some of you know, my husband and I work in sales for a roofing distribution company. Hurricanes mean crazy busy days for us so I need to get some rest.

Thank you for stopping by my blog and please make sure to check out all the other entries in this bloghop and maybe even enter your own creations for a chance to win one of many awesome prizes. Just go HERE for all the details.

Housewarming Card

Wow....this has been a rough week.  Hurricane Irma hit our area hard and we lost most of our roof (just the shingles, thankfully). We were without power for 5 long, hot, humid days. My in-laws generously lent us their generator when their power never went out. Generators are really noisy and thirsty little buggers....it cost about $40 per day in hard to find gasoline to keep it running. But I was so grateful because we were able to keep from losing the contents of our refrigerator/freezer. And then the generator stopped putting out power....nice. So we packed everything up and moved over to my dad's home which had the power restored already. We got our power back Friday night so this weekend was spent trying to clean-up and put everything back in order. Whew! I am exhausted and my weekend is already over....back to work in the morning.

Before the storm hit, I made this card for my husband's brother and family who just moved into a big beautiful new home in North Carolina. My friend Suzanne made me that adorable mailbox with her Cricut years ago and I recently found it in my stash. I knew it was perfect for this card. I used this card sketch from Stick It Down:

Well, that is about it for now. I may share in another post a card I made today....or I may just go sit on the couch and watch the football game. I need a little relaxation time.

First Day Back -- Grade 4

My granddaughters were not very cooperative according to my son when he wanted to take the picture for the first day of school. But he got a couple of them and I was able to make the layout earlier this week. This is my granddaughter Abby on her first day of 4th grade. I used this sketch from Grand Diva's Creative Corner:

I am also entering this page in Rochelle Spears' September Scrappy Friends' Challenge

The 3 school supplies items I used are:
paintbrush
pencil
ruler

That is it for now....one more blog post and then I am turning off my computer as we are in the midst of Hurricane Irma. Luckily we are in the northeast area of Florida so hopefully we will be spared the brunt of the storm.
