Bring on the Pumpkin Spice

I love pumpkin spice....I am not over the moon crazy for it however and by mid-November I have had my fill but I will never get tired of this fall/pumpkin spice/coffee themed digital set of sentiments and images from Verve Stamps. I just love creating with Julee Tilman's creations. I used her October sketch for this card also:

I am entering this card in the October sketch challenge at Viva La Verve.

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge.

That's it for tonight....fall has finally arrived here in Florida and it is going to be a chilly night....good sleeping weather. Goodnight!!

It's Awesome Being 6

My youngest grandchild turned 6 in August and although I wasn't able to be there with her, I had spent 2 weeks with her this summer and we made some life long memories together. I got some pictures of Izzy's big day from my son and I wanted to document her celebrations. I used the right side of this awesome 2 page sketch from Let's Scrap:

Instead of the film strip in the lower right hand corner I added that adorable chipboard girl with the balloons. And I used 2 small horizontal pictures on the left side of the page to leave room for my journaling.

Thanks for stopping by tonight....can you believe that October is just about over? This year has flown by much too fast.

12

A very sad thing happened this month....my grandson Cole turned 12.  I am sad because my grandkids are growing up way too fast. Cole has always been a wild and crazy kid, full of life and so much fun to be around. I hope he will still enjoy hanging out with us when we come into town. He never fails to make us laugh and gives us plenty of material to remember once we come home to Florida. For this page I used this fun sketch:

I am entering it in the Scrap Our Stash October Sketch + Word Challenge
The word was LEAF and I used:
L -- Layers
E -- Enamel Dots
A -- American Crafts Pebbles papers
F -- Flames and a Frame

That is it for tonight...whew! I was a busy girl this weekend...scrapping AND blogging. But I will be back tomorrow to share another project. Thanks for stopping by tonight.

Hello Fantastic Beautiful Crazy Life

My life for the past couple of years has gotten quite unpredictable and crazy. We have weathered 2 hurricanes in 11 months here in Florida and we are currently living with several tarps on our roof and fighting with our insurance company for enough money to make the needed repairs. I was diagnosed and beat breast cancer in 2016 and moved my 85 year old Dad to Florida from Colorado. He built a beautiful new home but due to health issues and several falls he only lived in it for less than 2 months. He has since transitioned to an awesome Assisted Living Facility.....but it has not been easy for him (or me). In the midst of all the changes in my family and my life I have to say I am still one lucky gal. I love my crazy life and wanted to document that on this page. I am getting more comfortable scrapping myself. I was inspired to use a large 8x10 photo by the Super Size Me Challenge in the Paper Issues Fall Crop on their Facebook page. I used the October Rewind sketch from Rochelle Spears:

As you can see, I rotated the sketch 90 degrees to accommodate my vertical photo and used a much larger photo than was shown in the sketch. I love the 5 strips of cardstock/patterned paper in the background of the sketch and followed that identically. I love taking an awesome sketch and making it my own while still staying true to the major design elements.

That is it for this post....I have been busy scrapping this weekend so I will be back soon with another project to share.

Ice Cream Is Always A Good Idea

I had so much fun with my granddaughters this past summer. One of the fun things we did was to go out for ice cream at the ice cream shop run by Oberweis Dairy. The ice cream there was soooo delicious! And of course Grandma spoiled the girls by ordering them servings of ice cream nearly as big as their head...lol. I used this fun sketch from Stuck? Sketches:

I have been scrapping all weekend so I will be back soon with another project to share. Thank you for stopping in.

Spooktacular card

Ok....I lied. I have one more Halloween card to share. I made this card just for the fun of it and then on a whim I sent it to my son. I know he will like it....he loves all things creepy.

I am entering this card in the Spooktacular Challenge at the Tuesday Throwdown challenge blog.

I am also entering it at Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge.

I think I will go soak a bit in a lavender scented bath and go right to bed. It was one of the roughest days I have had at work in awhile.

Peace Love Hope

I got inspired to create this card today at work. I sketched and wrote out the whole design and came some and knocked this out in no time at all. How does inspiration hit you? I used this great sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch:

That is it for tonight....I am going to watch a little hockey and hit the sheets.

It's All About The Candy

My Halloween card and projects are done and mailed out. Some of them have already been received. So this is my last project to share with you except for a couple of Halloween themed scrapbook pages that I am going to know out before the end of the month. I used one of the sketches from
Sketch-n-Scrap for this card for my grandson Cole:

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Photo Inspiration Challenge.
Here is the inspiration photo:

I was inspired by the Halloween theme and the candy corn. I also used all the colors on my card as well.

That is it for today. It was a good day. I had my one year screening for breast cancer which I beat one year ago. I am happy to say that I remain cancer free...yay! Life is Good. I will be back tomorrow to share a summer layout (and there might be ice cream)

Happy Haunting

I had a couple more Halloween cards to knock out this week so I could get the packages of goodies mailed off to the Midwest. Sadly, the package sent to my grandsons is probably the last Halloween package I will send them as they are getting older and have most likely outgrown the Halloween goodies. But I will still be making them for a few more years for the granddaughters. I used this sketch from Sketch-n-Scrap and am entering it in their Sketch Challenge.

I am also entering it in the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge. You can tell I was inspired by that adorable Frankenstein monster in the photo.

Finally, I am also entering this card in the Blueprints Right This Way Challenge from My Favorite Things. I used blueprint #13 and several pointed directional elements....the arrow die and 2 tags dies. That adorable image and sentiment is also from My Favorite Things.

That is it for tonight. I have an extremely busy weekend ahead of me so I am thinking of turning in early tonight....yup on a Friday night. What an exciting life I lead!!

Teenage Zombie

This picture is a couple of years old but for some odd reason, I had never scrapped it. I love Halloween photos and fall scrapping and the photos I get are few. Plus we do not have fall here in Florida so I love the occasional Halloween/fall/ Thanksgiving pages that I get to do.

For this picture I used this fun sketch from Sketches in Thyme and am entering it in their
sketch challenge. Their sketches really ROCK this month. I just might use all of them if I get a chance.

That is it for tonight. I am going to relax on the couch and watch some hockey and then hit the sheets. Thank you for stopping in my blog.

Pumpkin Pickers

I love scrapping fall/Halloween pictures. Unfortunately, I never get too many of them. I love this one from last year of my son and grandson and saved it to scrap this year. I used this awesome sketch from Sketches in Thyme:

I am entering this page in the sketch challenges at Sketches in Thyme as well as the
Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge at Scrap Our Stash:

I went diagonally from the upper left corner to the lower right corner. I used the color orange, a pumpkin (brad) and I die cut a piece of thin cork with my SMILE circle die.

Gotta go to work...thanks for dropping in.

Ghouls Just Wanna Have Fun

I just love these ghosts from CAS-ual Fridays stamps. I used the sketch also from CAS-ual Fridays for this card and I am entering it in their sketch challenge.

I will be sending this card along with a bag of goodies to my granddaughter this week. I love putting together fun packages for the grandkids. The girls especially really look forward to receiving goodies from me. The boys are a little older so they just get cash....lol.

I hope you enjoyed your weekend. I enjoyed mine...I just wish it was a couple of days longer.

My great niece is going to be 11 in early November and since I was making cards all weekend, I decided to make one for her also. I used this special World Card Making Day sketch from Sketch-n-Scrap and I am entering it in their sketch challenge.

I used all Jillibean Soup products on this card and followed their color challenge:

I used all 5 colors and am entering it in their Color Challenge from World Card Making Day.

That's about it for tonight. I think I will watch a little hockey and go to bed early tonight. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

This birthday themed stamp set from Your Next Stamp is one of my newest stamp sets and all the images and sentiments just make me smile! I used their current sketch to create this card:

I am entering their sketch challenge which you can see all the details HERE. There is still time to enter. If I get I chance I want to try my hand at the color challenge this week.

World Card Making Day #8

I the used awesome sketch by Kristine Davidson for the Jillibean Soup World Card Making Day Sketch Challenge for this card for my husband. I just love Kristine's sketches and I have really enjoyed creating with her card sketches. I am so excited because I was able to play with all three of her awesome sketches. In fact, one of them I was able to use twice on two different cards. Kristine's sketches really inspire me.

World Card Making Day #7

This will be the last card I am sharing today that I made for World Card Making Day. I have several more to share but tomorrow is another day. My Favorite Things had 4 awesome challenges to celebrate WCMD and this one was my favorite....use only die cuts, NO stamping. I just bought this Die-namics set in August when I visited the MFT store in Eustis, Florida which is about 90 minutes from my house. I love coffee, lattes and even hot chocolate so when I saw it, I knew it had to come home with me.

I am entering this card in the MFT World Card Making Day Die-namics Challenge
and
I am linking this card up to the Simon Says Stamp World Cardmaking Day link-up

Well that is it for me tonight. I will be back tomorrow with more cards to share.

World Card Making Day #6

My goal for World Card Making Day was to get all of my Halloween cards made and in the end I only made this one. But I have plans to work on cards this week so they will get made. This card is for the World Cardmaking Day By The Numbers Challenge at My Favorite Things. I used the MFT sketch from this week and am entering it in their Sketch Challenge #353 also.

Finally, I am also linking it up to the Simon Say Stamp World Card Making Day link-up.

Thank you for stopping by my blog....I had a great weekend although it seemed much too short. How was yours?

World Card Making Day #5

For a long time I never had built up any kind of stash with the cards I made. I would make them as I needed them and send them right out. But after World Card Making Day this weekend I am finally starting to build up a stash of cards that I can just grab and send out. I made this card for the ROYGBIV (or rainbow) challenge at My Favorite Things.

I am also entering this card at Di's Pixie's Craft Workshop Snippets Challenge as all the cardstock for my die-cut stars came out of my scrap (snippet) basket. She is offering two fabulous prizes from MFT and I would love to win both of them.

I am also linking this card up in the Simon Says Stamp World Card Making Day link-up.

Thanks for stopping by....I hope you had a fun and relaxing weekend.

World Card Making Day Make and Mail

I spent a fair amount of time this weekend making cards in honor of World Card Making Day. This card is for a very cool challenge by My Favorite Things called the Make and Mail Challenge. I created this card with one of my favorite MFT stamp sets and I am mailing it out tomorrow to my Aunt JoAnn to celebrate her birthday.

I am also linking this card up to the Simon Says Stamp World Cardmaking Day link-up. Click HERE for more details.

Thanks for stopping by tonight. Did you make any cards this weekend?

This is the second card I made with this awesome sketch by Kristine Davidson for Jillibean  Soup today.
I am entering it in the Die Cuts Challenge. I just LOVE these Pea Pod Parts and this card just makes me smile. I think my granddaughter will like it too. Everything on the card except the cardstock and the little orange rhinestone is from Jillibean Soup.
I am also linking it up on the Simon Says Stamp World Card Making Day post that you can see

Well that is it for now...I must get to bed. But I have plenty more to share. I was a busy gal on Saturday.

World Card Making Day #2

I loved this sketch so much by Kristine Davidson for Jillibean Soup that I used it twice today (something I rarely do) to make cards for my granddaughters.....this is the first one I want to share. We had such a good time with them this summer that I miss them even more now that they are back home in Chicago. I made 6 cards today to celebrate World Card Making Day. This is the sketch I used:
I am entering this card in the Sketch Challenge on the Jillibean Soup blog
and

That's it for this one but I have one more post I want to do before I hit the sheets.

World Card Making Day

I really enjoyed myself today....I set aside a large block of time today just for me and I sat and made cards for a good portion of that time. There are some awesome sketches, challenges, inspiration and prizes out there so after a couple of hours looking at and logging several challenges and blogs, I got busy. First up is this card I made for my brother-in-law's birthday later this month. I used this fabulous sketch from Kristine Davidson foe Jillibean Soup and all the products except for the cardstock and enamel dots are from my Jillibean Soup stash.
I am entering this card in the Sketch Challenge on the Jillibean Soup blog and over at Simon Says Stamps World Card Making Day blog post HERE.

Well that is it for this post but I made 8 cards in the last 24 hours so you can bet there are more posts to come.

Warm Wishes

I thought about and planned out this card in my head all day at work today. I saw this sketch at
Little Tangles and the wheels in my head start turning.

I used one of my older but favorite Neat and Tangled stamps and heat embossed the image/sentiment in silver on navy card stock. I dry embossed a sheet of foiled cardstock with some snowflakes. I wish it photographed better...this card is really shiny. I took the color combination from the
Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 425 to use Navy Silver and White

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Christmas Challenge

Well, hockey season has started and my team is on and playing a very exciting game and I do not want to miss any of it.  Thank you for stopping by my blog.

Somebunny

Our adorable niece Rosie is turning 3 next week. I just love these MFT bunnies and thought she might like them too on her birthday card. This is the first time I used these sweet little bunnies. I bought them from a crafter online who was de-stashing her craft room. They came with the matching dies but were the older style closed dies. I must admit to watching a few You Tube videos on how to line the closed dies up. It is a bit tricky but I think I got the hang of it. These images are not die cut perfectly but I am sure little Rosie will never notice.

I am entering this card in 2 challenges:

and
the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by....have a wonderful rest of the week.
