I used this sketch from the current Paper Smooches Designer Draft:

And this card is a thank you for a sweet online friend.

Talk Nerdy to Me

I love punny cards so when I saw this week's Simon Says Stamps challenge was to create a humorous project, I got all excited.  I used my Unity stamp for both the image and the sentiment and just layered washi tape for the background.  Easy Peasy!  I think I will give this one to my hubby. When I married him, I not only got a wonderful husband but also an IT guy....he is a real GEEK and I love that.

Stay warm!

Thanks a Ton!

Just a quick thank you card tonight.  I used a stamp from a Stampin' Up set that I had never inked up yet although I owned the set nearly a year (or more). I used this sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch:

Are You Ready For Some Football?

I loved these cute little pictures of Izzy that my son posted on Facebook last fall. I whipped up this quick and easy page tonight while waiting for my meatloaf to finish cooking.

I used this sketch from My Scraps and More Sketches:

Well that is about it for me this weekend.  It is back to work bright and early tomorrow.  Ahhh....how I love Mondays!!  Have a wonderful week and thanks for checking out my blog.

Princess Cutie

I am still on a mission to scrap my youngest granddaughter Izzy in an effort to catch her up to all the 100's of layouts I have done of my other 3 grandchildren.  Sometimes when you are the youngest you don't get your picture snapped or scrapped as much as the older kids.  AND she is just such a cutie that I love to put her on my pages.

I used up some of my Webster's Pages Composition and Color from my stash and it worked perfectly with this pictures of my little sweetie.  I was inspired by the Scrap Your Stash challenge over HERE at the Webster's Pages blog and I am entering their challenge.  I soooo want to win their brand new collection Sweet Routine.  I love the colors and elements in that collection. My friend Kristie gifted me those feathers for this layout and I think they worked out perfectly.  Thank you Kristie.  You can check out Kristie's blog HERE.  I used this sketch of Webster's Pages:

Edited 11/26/14 to add: I am also entering this in Paper Issues current issue "Birds of a Feather"

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.  I had a very productive weekend and I hope you did also.

Lawnscaping Challenge #74 -- You Light Up My Life

Lawn Fawn are some of my very stamps and I absolutely love their design team.  I get so inspired by them.  So when I saw the Lawnscaping Inspired By challenge this week I was all over it. The challenge is to pick a creation by one of their designers and let it inspire my project .  I chose this card by Yainea:

You can see it on her blog HERE.  I used the same design as Yainea but I used The Future is Bright stamp set. I turned my light bulb upside down and "hung" it with a bow.  The papers are all from Lawn Fawn Dewey Decimel and the Fa La La collection.

I think I will send this card out to my son and DIL for Valentine's Day.  Thanks so much for stopping by my blog.  Your sweet comments make my day.

Artful Delight cards -- Be Mine and More....

Hi, here are a couple more cards I created with the wonderful January card kit. The above card I made for my son Adam for Valentine's Day. He and his sons, Jacob age 12 and Cole age 8 love to go to movies so I thought a fun gift for him (and not too mushy) for Valentine's Day would be a movie gift card. I used one of the kraft envelopes from the kit as the gift card holder and I just LOVE the Movie Night stamps included in the Paper Smooches stamp set from this month. Honestly one of my very favorite parts of the card kits every month is looking forward to the fantastic stamp set that will be in the kit and this month there are TWO stamp sets!!

Next up, I cut a window in my gatefold card to show off my sweet little birdie. The birdie and the quote are from the Fancy Pants Beloved Collection. I love everything in this kit and have used a good part of it already and intend to use up every scrap and embellishment in this kit. Stay tuned next week for 2 or maybe even three more projects. For details on how you can get your own kit go HERE.

I am entering the Movie Night card in Paper Smooches Sparks Anything Goes challenge this week.

Thanks for stopping by my blog....I hope I have inspired you to get started on your Valentine's Day cards.

Love to Love Ya baby

Over the holidays while Dave and I had a few days off I embarked on a HUGE project to sort and put 300+ scrapbook pages in albums.  In so doing (and I still am not finished) I realized I had WAY more Abby pages than Izzy pages.  Now to be fair, my granddaughter Abby IS 3.5 years older than her little sister but I do need to scrap my sweet Izzy more.  So I whipped up this page this past weekend.

I used this sketch from Life, Paper, Scrapbook:

I loved the simplicity of the sketch and it really lets my photo take center stage.

I am also entering this in Frosted Designs polka dot challenge because of my round polka-dotted circle in the top right corner.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leave me a comment if you would.  I LOVE reading your comments.

2014 -- Week #2

Here is my Week #2 for 2014.  I decided to go with an aqua blue and yellow mostly color scheme.  I have found after doing Project Life for a little over a year now that the pages and end up looking quite cluttered.  Too keep that from happening I try to add some filler cards that are not too heavily embellished and to try to coordinate the colors.  This week I tried something a bit different and added a vellum card.  It is the card with the yellow "today" and the aqua chevron below it.  I really like the look and think I will add vellum on a regular basis.  Especially since I picked up a bunch of vellum sheets at Michael's today for only 19 cents apiece.  Score!

I am entering this spread in the Stuck on U Sketches Project Life Challenge which was to use vellum (thanks for the inspiration!)

Thanks for dropping in on my blog today!

2014 Week #1

I am still catching up on my 2013 Project Life album but in the mean time I am bound and determined to stay current on my 2014 documentation.  Here is my week #1 which contains both Dave's and my resolutions or goals for this year.  I used several items from my Studio Calico Project Life January kit and various other items and scraps from my stash.

I am entering this in Paper Issues "We're LISTening" theme.

Thank you for checking out my blog.

Artful Delight January Kit Owlies

I am still immensely enjoying working with the January kit.  I love putting tegether packages of goodies for my grandchildren in the Midwest and our niece and nephews in North Carolina for their birthdays and holidays. Valentine's Day is just so much FUN to craft for. Who doesn't love hearts and pink owls???  LOL! These owls were tons of fun to make and I even broke out my nearly vintage decorative edge scissors! The scraps of paper I used along the bottom edge show the variety of different papers there are in an Arful Delight card kit. Leanne really packs these kits full of pretty papers and fun embellishments. (like those sparkly hearts that I used for the owls' eyes) Link up a project with either a card sketch or layout sketch (or both for two chances to win!) and you could be the lucky winner of a kit of your own. Or better yet sign up for a subscription HERE so you don't miss any of the upcoming goodies.

I am also entering these cards in Curtain Call's Love Letters challenge. These cards were inspired by the overal theme of mailing Valentines.  Here is the inspirational photo:

You Are So Very Loved

I have no shortage of pictures of my youngest son Adam.  I just wish Matt would post half as many pictures with him in them as Adam does.  This is one of my favorite recent pictures of my baby boy.  It seems like just yesterday that he and I were dropping his older brother off at kindergarten and we were going to pre-school.  I taught a class and Adam made new friends and charmed his teachers.  Now Adam is 32......life is so very fleeting.  All the more reason to document the everyday.  I wish I had done so back then.  But it is never too late to start.

For this layout I used this sketch from Stuck on You Sketches:

I am also entering this page in Simon Says Stamp's Monday Anything Goes Challenge

Thanks for stopping by....I hope your week is pleasant and productive.

Warm Thoughts

I really like Clean and Simple cards.  However I have discovered that they are not as easy to create as you might think.  So I have been continually striving to improve my CAS design and I am happy with this card.  I used this sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch:

The sentiment is from Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler and I am entering it into the Anything Goes Challenge

I am also entering this card in Simon Says Stamp's Monday Blues Challenge

You Make Me Smile

I love Valentine's Day. I love to tell my family how much they mean to me and Valentine's Day is a day to do just that. When I found out that the January kit was love/Valentine's Day themed I {may} have let out a little squeal! And the colors are my very favorite....who can go wrong with pink, red and aqua??? This first card that I made was inspired by Suzanne's awesome sketch:

Try your hand at this sketch and/or the layout sketch and you could win a kit of your choice from Artful Delight.....details on the sketch challenge are right HERE.

Here is a picture of the entire January card kit---it is chock full of fun and pretty stuff all coordinated for you to make pretty cards and projects. AND it cludes an awesome stamp set from one of my favorite stamp companies -- Paper Smooches.

There are a few kits left you can check out the details HERE.

I am entering this card in the current Paper Smooches Anything Goes Challenge.

In the CAS-ual Fridays One Word challenge.  My word for this year of 2014 is SMILE.  I have a lot in my life that makes me happy....I just need to remind myself more to keep the smile on my face because everyone looks prettier when they smile.

By the way the couple in the picture with my card are my mom and dad on their honeymoon in 1955.  I cherish that picture of them especially since my mom is no longer with us.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Mojo Monday sketch 327

I have 3 birthdays this month so I sat down tonight after work and knocked out all three cards which I will be sharing with you over the next few days. This is the first card for my friend Sue in the Chicago area.  Sue plays the piano/organ at her church so I thought this card would be appropriate for her.  I used this sketch from Mojo Monday:

I am entering this in the challenge at Seize the Birthday.

The {Perfect} Tree

My son Adam took his boys Jacob and Cole out to cut their own Christmas tree this year.  It looks like it was cold but that did not stop them from finding the perfect tree and cutting it down themselves.  When they got it home they decorated it and Cole got the honor as usual to put the star on top.  To document this memory I used products from 5 different manufacturers:
Bo Bunny -- tree die cut
Echo Park -- the plaid patterned paper
American Crafts -- all the other patterned paper and the Thickers in the title
Studio Calico -- wood veneers
Jillibean Soup -- the numbers on the tree.

I also used this sketch from Paper Issues:

I am entering it in the Paper Issues Shiny and New challenge which you can see all the details HERE.

Have a wonderful new year and if you live up north -- KEEP WARM.
