A Cup of Sanity

Here I am back again, squeezing this card in under the deadline. I have about 30 minutes to get this blog post done....now that is cutting it close! I used this fun sketch #64 from Sketch-n-Scrap:

I am entering this card at the Sketch-n-Scrap February challenges
and
Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes Week #428 - #429

That is it for now....hope you are enjoying your weekend. I will be back tomorrow, I think. If I get all the tax work done that I need to do to get our taxes to the accountant this week. If I get that big job done, then I might have time to blog and craft. Wish me luck.

With Sympathy

I think it is universal among cardmakers that no one enjoys making sympathy cards. Although I have been making cards for over 10 years, I only recently started making sympathy cards. I try to keep a couple made and on hand but recently I needed a few so I made this one and I will need to make a couple more.

I am entering this card in two challenges:
and

Well that is it for now. So glad that it is the weekend but it is a busy one as we leave next week for nearly 2 weeks in Hawaii. I am really looking forward to this trip...it is my celebrating retirement trip. Aloha!

Paper Smooches Thanks

Paper Smooches was the first stamp company that I bought from when I first started stamping. They remain my first love, although I do not use their stamps near as much as I should.....they are adorable and I love the funky handwritten font. You can see all their stamps and dies at  http://www.papersmoochesstamps.com

I am entering this card in their February Challenge #2: Color Story
I think I hit all the colors on my card....color challenges are so, well challenging (lol) for me.

I am also entering this card at Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes Week #428 - #429
That is it for now....time to take the puppy out for our daily one mile walk.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Birthday Spencer

My husband asked me yesterday to make a card for a kid he works with named Spencer who is turning 21 years old. He is a car guy like Dave so they talk cars quite a bit. I thought this vintage pickup truck sticker that I found in my stash would work perfectly. Dave likes it and says it is perfect.

I am entering this card in two challenges:

That is it for right now. I am not feeling too well this evening so I think I am going to grab my pillow and blanket and hit the couch. Thank you for checking out my blog.

Love

Here is another page documenting our professional photo shoot in my 2019 Traveler's Notebook. Lasting Memories is sponsoring a bunch of very cool inspiring challenges this month to pull out some long forgotten items and use them on your scrapbook pages. I am entering this spread in their
I used a stamp from a Paper Smooches stamp set for the word LOVE on the speech bubble. That was one of the first stamp sets that I ever bought and has survived many purges. I love the funky handwritten font.

That is it for right now. I have to go wrap the birthday gifts that I bought my granddaughter. I went a little overboard so that is going to take awhile and it needs to get done because the package has to go to the post office tomorrow. I will however be back this afternoon or evening with another post. This one is a card. See you then.

Chicago Field Museum

I had some older dinosaur papers and stickers in my stash left over from when my grandsons were younger that were just perfect for this layout. Although I regularly purge my stash, I am glad I never got rid of these. I used this PageMaps sketch :

I am entering this page in a cool challenge from Lasting Memories
I used a circle punch for the yellow scallops, a small banner punch and my favorite notebook border punch. Thanks Lasting Memories for encouraging me to pull out, dust off and use my punches. I had a blast!

Well that is it for now. I will be back tomorrow to share a card and a spread in my Traveler's Notebook. I have been a busy crafty gal.

Happy 12th Birthday

My granddaughter is turning 12 and these last few months have been difficult for her. She transferred to a new school in December. She is having a difficult time adjusting....middle school is rough. I wanted to make her a special card and this one seemed appropriate. It was a bit time consuming but worth it as I think she will like it. Aqua is her favorite color. This is what it looks like with the belly band taken off and opened up:

That is it for right now....I will be back this afternoon to post the 12x12 scrapbook layout I mentioned yesterday.

Gnomes For The Holidays Week 45

My home was full of holiday gnomes this past Christmas. I happened to be at TJ Maxx the day they were putting out all the new Christmas decorations (it was before Halloween!!) and got my pick of the litter. Needless to say several came home with me. This ceramic gnome is my favorite however.

I am still plugging along, working hard to finish my 2019 Traveler's Notebook.....only a few more weeks to document. For this page I used this fun sketch from Lisa Hidy and am entering it at her blog My Creative Endeavors.

I am also entering this spread in the TN Time With Lisa and Lori Challenge at Lori Stroup's blog
My Happy Life  Lori's challenge was to pick and use three items from the following list:
The color pink
The color red
Hearts
Flowers
Tag(s)
Label(s)
Washi tape
Gold
Striped patterned paper

I used the color red, hearts, a tag, a label and striped paper. I guess I got a bit carried away because that is definitely more than three but I had fun with it.
That is about it for now....hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Best Snow Day Ever

It snowed last week in the Midwest and my son Adam texted me that they were all at home with a snow day. I asked him to take some pictures since I had some snow themed scrapbook paper left over from scrapping our trip to Detroit this time last winter. I do not get a chance to scrap many winter weather pages since I live in Florida so I really enjoyed working with all the pictures Adam sent me. This is the second of two pages that I have made so far. I used this awesome sketch from
That is it for today, I hope you are enjoying your weekend as much as I am enjoying mine.

Hello Sunshine

I made another friendship card and I know just who I want to send this to. I was inspired to make a friendship card and mail it out by the Meant To Be Sent Challenge at Sugar Pea Designs:

I always send all the cards I make so this is an easy challenge for me. I am trying to build my stash so I have cards on hand to send out as needed. I have been sending a number of cards our recently for card drives....sick kids in the hospital, a newly diagnosed cancer patient, a 100 year veteran. I really love spending a little snail mail cheer.

I am also entering this card in the Make Your Own Background Challenge at Your Next Stamp
and
Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes Week #426 - #427
That is it for today....thanks for stopping by my blog. I have a traditional 12x12 scrapbook page to share tomorrow.

Your Friendship Is A Blessing

As I said before, I am trying to build my stash of cards so I have a card ready on hand to send out whenever needed. Rest assured, I mail out ALL the cards I make so it would be really nice to build up a stash and since retiring in June last year, I have actually built up a little stash. However, I did not have any friendship cards in my stash so at my Stampin' Up class this week, I made a couple of them.

I am entering this card in the Meant To Be Sent Challenge at Sugar Pea

I am also entering this card in the Word Art Wednesday

That is it for now...I might pop in later with another friendship card to share or then again it might be tomorrow. I am really feeling inspired to create a traditional 12x12 scrapbook page.

French Poodle Valentine Card

My in-laws have two little toy French poodles so I used a couple die cuts from Doodlebug's Valentine collection from last year -- French Kiss and put together a card for them. I water colored some grass and stenciled some clouds for the background.

I am entering this car in the Make Your Own Background Challenge at Your Next Stamp.

Thanks for stopping in and checking out my blog....I am off to the couch to watch a late night hockey game. Good thing I am retired and can sleep in tomorrow morning.

Valentine Gnome

I could not help but giggle as I was making this Valentine card for my sister. She recently commented on Facebook that she is not onboard with this gnome trend and in fact "hates gnomes".  Well that was all I needed to hear to make me decide to make her a gnome Valentine's Day card....she may see a gnome on her birthday card in May also....lol!

I am entering this card in two challenges:
Your Next Stamp Challenge #132 -- Create Your Own Background. I used the 2 pictured mini ink pads to create the striped background.

The other challenge I am entering this card in is the Word Art Wednesday

Thank you for stopping by my blog today....have a good Tuesday.

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 70 Lots of Love

I am still making Valentine cards and still enjoying the process. This one was sent to my son's girlfriend yesterday and I have one more to send out tomorrow and that is it for this year. For this card I used this gorgeous sketch from Julee Tilman for her blog Poetic Artistry Sketch Challenge
I was totally inspired by the current inspiration board at
I used the color scheme, all the hearts and the general Love theme.

I am also entering this card in the Word Art Wednesday Anything Goes #424 - #425
That is it for now....hockey is on the TV and my puppy is keeping my spot on the couch warm for me. Hope your weekend was wonderful. Thanks for stopping in my blog. Stop in tomorrow to see a fun gnome Valentine and why I was laughing while I was making it today.

Lawn Fawn Thank You Card

I don't know about you but I never have enough thank you cards. I wish I could build my stash on them but it seems every time I make one, I need to send it right out. That was the case for this card. I used this great sketch from Sketch-n-Scrap:

I flipped the sketch 90 degrees to make a landscape card and I am entering it in their

I also was inspired by the current challenge #70 at Lawn Fawnatics Lots Of Love

I was inspired by the color scheme and all the colorful hearts. I used the sweet little trio of hearts stamp from my new Stud Puffin stamp set to stamp those hearts along the bottom and broke out an older Lawn Fawn stamp set for the Thank You sentiment called Scripty Sayings. The plaid paper is also from Lawn Fawn.

Well that is it for now....hope your weekend is going well. We are having a good weekend but it is going by WAY too fast.

Week 44 Domestic Goddess

I am working hard on catching up and finishing my 2019 TN....the end is in sight. Week 44 was a week I just wanted to document what it was like for the first 6 months of retirement. While I am loving being retired there are some days that I am bored, lonely or restless but I am getting used to it. All my retired friends told me there is and adjustment period and overall I am enjoying the quiet, the freedom and the stress free life I now have.

I used this awesome sketch by Lisa and am entering this spread in the TN Time With Lisa and Lori Challenge on her blog My Creative Endeavors

I also am entering this in Lori's Challenge on her blog My Happy Life to use something old and something new on my spread. The Domestic Goddess title and household ephemera are from a Simple Stories collection of a few years ago called Domestic Bliss. The alphas are from the Florence alphas from Bella Blvd and I recently had to replenish my stash....I had used up some of my favorite colors...navy being one of them. That is my new item. I use them on all my TN pages.

That is it for tonight. Come back tomorrow for a fun Lawn Fawn card. In the meantime, enjoy your weekend.

I am also entering it in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday With Love Challenge.

I hope your week is going well....the good news is tomorrow is FRIDAY....YAY!! Thanks you for stopping by my blog.
