Hello Friend Birthday Card

 

 

When I was in Chicago recently I got to see one of my favorite ladies.  Technically she is my ex-sister-in-law but since she and my brother divorced she has been more of a part of the family than he has (sad to say).  In reality, Patty is like a sister to me.  But with her in the Chicago area and me in Florida we do not see each other too often so I was very happy that she came to Abby's birthday party.  It is her birthday this coming week and I wanted to make her a card.  Here is a picture of her and I from a couple of weeks ago:

I am in the process of re-doing my wedding album so that all the pages coordinate.  I am really loving the way the pages are turning out.  Here is another page for the album. Since we will be celebrating our 10th anniversary in a little over a month, I thought it was time I get busy on this project.

I am also entering this page in Frosted Designs Up, Up and Away challenge which was to use something on your project that you would see in the sky.  Well in addition to the "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign in my photo, I also included a badge in the center of my scarlet flower that has two little love birds pictured. This also qualifies for Paper Issues Up in the Clouds Theme so I am linking it up there as well.

 

 

I am enjoying a scrappy weekend so this is the first of what I hope will be many posts this weekend with my completed projects.



Hello

 

I love receiving a card in the mail for no particular reason and I love sending cards to family and friends for no particular reason.  This is one of those cards going out to an online friend just because I like her and she is one of the sweetest and most generous people I know.

Time Marches On....Project Life Week #7

 

 

Here is my week #7 of the Project Life album that I am doing this year.  This week contained Valentine's Day which since it was in the middle of the work week, got barely a nod from Dave and I .  Also tragically there was an unexpected death in the family which I wanted to document.  When my weeks are fairly uneventful I only do a one page layout.  Busier weeks get 2 pages.

St. Patrick Day's card

Here is my second St. Patrick's Day card.  For this card I heat embossed 4 Celtic shamrocks and place a small green rhinestone in the center of each one.  I used another one of $1 stamps (I love a bargain) for the sentiment.

 

I am entering this card in Pumpkin Spice's Challenge #9.  For this challenge I had to use the color green and 4 of something.  I used the 4 embossed shamrocks.

 

Well it is Sunday night and it is back to work tomorrow.  My hubby has been very sick with the flu and pneumonia and tomorrow is his first day back to work.  I hope he continues to improve.

Mountain Dudes

I love using sketches as a jumping off point for my layouts.  Sometimes I follow them closely and sometimes I don't.  This is a case where I didn't follow too closely to this sketch:

 

 

I started off with the large die cut chevron green paper, I substituted one horizontal picture for the two vertical photos and since it was a layout of my grandsons I eliminated the layered border punches and just used my notebook punch along one side.
