Coffee Makes You Sharper

I love purple but rarely use it in my crafting so I was excited to see the color challenge for Newton's Nook this time included two shades of purple:

I am entering it in their Color Challenge #71 and also in the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #271 because I used their sketch this week:

That's it for tonight....thank goodness tomorrow is Friday. I live for my weekends.

Wishing You a Magical Day

I love when a card sketch sticks in my head and get the creative wheels spinning. The sketch that inspired this card did just that. Here is the Sketch-n-Scrap sketch:

I created the background with thin glitter washi tape from Cocoa Daisy. The cute unicorn image and sentiment in from Avery Elle.

I am entering this card in the sketch challenge at the Sketch-n-Scrap blog.

Details can be seen HERE.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I appreciate your comments.

Caffeinated Hugs

I just love Kerry Urbatch's sketches that are featured every Sunday on the

Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog. I have not had a chance to play with them the last couple of months but I am determined to make a card with every sketch this month. This is the sketch from April 1st:

I absolutely loved this inspiration photo from the Inspired By blog:

Not only was I inspired by the blue and white them but also by the thick cable knit blanket. If you look closely at the coozie on my coffee cup, it has the same cable knit pattern. I love that stamp set by Brutus Monroe and it was the first time I inked up that coffee cup and that sentiment. I am entering this card in Laurel Seabrook's Inspired By Rainy Day Coziness Challenge.

I just realized that because I added three black enamel dots, I can also enter this card in the
Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Trio of Something Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by my blog....I hope your weekend was as good as mine was...ugh, I REALLY do not want to go back to work tomorrow.

Trio of Something

I had a vacation day today that was perfectly lovely. My husband and I went out to breakfast with some friends visiting from Chicago, I got crafty and Dave finally got new tires on his beloved car. This is the first card I made today because I really an trying to build a card stash this year. I used the awesome sketch from CAS(e) This Sketch.

I used a floral stamp from My Favorite Things and that pretty blue gingham paper is also out of one of their 6x6 paper pads. I used the colors from their current Color Challenge:

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Trio of Something Challenge.

That is if for me tonight....thank you for dropping in and checking out my creations.

Rainbow Card

I am still learning to work with water colors and I practiced a bit on this flamingo. It turned out decently so I decided to use it on a birthday card for my 16 year old niece (How in the world are these kids so old so quickly? I swear Rach and my grandson Jake were just playing under the kitchen table together at a family function. And now they are both old enough to drive.)

I have all the colors of the rainbow -- red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and  violet on this card and think it is rather cute. I am entering it in the

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #386 --Rainbow Colors

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Happy Birthday Challenge.

Well that is about it for me tonight. I have had a long, busy week but tonight is my Friday....I have a 3 day weekend and I am going to relax a bit tonight. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

I just loved the gingham check and the colors in this inspiration photo. And both the inspiration photo and the sketch for this card for my youngest granddaughter that I made this afternoon.

This is the fun sketch from Danni Reid:

I am entering this card in Laurel Seabrook's Inspired By Challenge for this week. You can see all the details HERE -- there is still time to enter your creation.
