Did You Win All Those?

We had an awesome birthday celebration for my granddaughter Abby's 5th birthday last March.  It was held at the Crown Point Family Fun Center.  There were games and tokens for everyone and all the kids had a blast.  Cole won an exceptional amount of tickets and was very proud of his haul.  He ended up using most of them to buy his dad a cool skull ring with red eyes.  My son Adam loved it....who wouldn't?  LOL

I used sketch #28 from My Scraps and More Sketches:

The papers and embellishments are from My Mind's Eye Boy Crazy collection.

I am also entering this page in About a Boy's "Boys Will Be Boys" challenge.

Just Flying By to Say Hi

There is so much to do to get ready to go on vacation even if it is only for 5 days and there is only the 2 of us. We took the day off to get it all done and I took some time for me in the middle of the day to create a card that I had in my head for a couple of days.  This time it turned out like I pictured it.  I used Fancy Pants Time for Spring 6x6 papers.  The butterfly is from an older Echo Park collection Country Drive and I used 2 stamp sets from Lawn Fawn....Say Cheese and Flying By.

I am entering it in the following challenges:

All Partied Out

I love how children can fall asleep anywhere and in any position.  This is my granddaughter Abby right after her 5th birthday party.  She was riding in the back of our rental and was jabbering all about her party and her friends/cousins who were there and her gifts.......   All of a sudden she stopped talking and when I turned to look at her this picture is what I found.  She fell asleep literally in mid-sentence!!  What is even more incredible is that her neck did not hurt when she woke up.....AMAZING!!

I used Heather Landry's sketch #37 for this layout:

Heather is an amazing sketch artist and is also offering a free digital template of this sketch which you can get by going to her blog HERE.  I am on her design team and is it a real blessing and an honor to get to create with her sketches.

I am also entering this page over at About a Girl Scrapbook Challenge where the challenge is to introduce your duaghter/granddaughter/niece, etc in a layout that is just about them.  Well this is Abby....she and her little sister Izzy will be the stars of my girl pages.  I love scrapping pictures of my adorable granddaughters.

Happy Birthday, Gerilyn

My little sister's big 5-0 birthday is coming up next weekend and I wanted to make her a card since I cannot be up in Indiana to celebrate with her.  My sister is a wonderful person with a heart the size of Texas and I was really sad that the last time we were in town she was sick with that nasty flu and we couldn't get together.

I used October Afternoon Cakewalk for this card and this awesome sketch from Mojo Monday:

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and don't forget about the giveaway that I am having.  Go HERE for details.

Owl R U? and a GIVEAWAY!!

I just love owls.  I also really like clean and simple cards and have found that they are not as easy to do as they look.  This is another card in my process of trying to really master the clean and simple technique.  I think I am making progress but still have a ways to go.

I used this sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch:

I used my Alphadot stamps from Paper Smooches for the custom sentiment.

I am also entering this card in Simon Says Stamp Things with Wings challenge.

Now for the fun part -- I have a giveaway!!  I am approaching my 500th post and 300 followers so I decided to do a RAK.  Just enter a comment on this post and you are entered to win.  I will choose a winner next Sunday May 18th.  Please leave me a way to contact you if you win (if I don't already know your contact info).  Here's what I am offering :

Shine

I was born and raised in and near the great city of Chicago.  But don't think that makes me a landlubber.  I have always loved lighthouses and all things nautical.  And did you know Chicago has a lighthouse?  And a darn purty one at that.

Fast forward 50 years and I find myself living in and loving coastal Florida.  I still love the beach and all it's treasures and lighthouses still hold a fascination for me.  Dave and I visit as many as we can and to date in 10 years of marriage I think we have visited near 15 different lights.

When Paper Smooches posted their Sparks challenge this week, I knew I had to give it a go.

The challenge this week is to create a project inspired by this photo:

I love the red/white color scheme and the anchor pillow and that porthole rocks.  I made a card that was inspired by the overall nautical theme of the picture and what is more nautical than the sea and a lighthouse?

Don't you just love the constellation paper?  It is from the new Atlantic collection by Studio Calico and I LOVE it....perfect for this project too. I colored my lighthouse to resemble the St. Augustine lightouse which is not far from our home.  I used 3 different Paper Smooches stamps sets on this card.....Alphadots, Geo-Graphic and Smoocheroos.  I love my PS stamps!! If you would like to get your own set, check out all the stamps HERE.

Mother's Day Gift Bag

We went out for an early Mother's Day celebration with my mother-in-law last weekend and I made this gift bag for her goodies. I really love the embellishment with the tree that says "Our family tree is blessed with thee."  My mother-in-law is truly a blessing to our family.  I used some older Bella Blvd papers and a pretty doilie.

I am entering this project in the following projects:
