Wishing You a Fintas-tic Day

With my recent win of a gift card from Simon Says Stamp, I was able to get two stamp and matching die sets. This is the second one that I got.  The other set I used on a card from THIS blog post.  I just  love this mermaid from Reverse Confetti.  There are a lot of mermaid sets that came out recently but I felt like this one stole my heart.  I used this sketch from Reverse Confetti:

The deadline to enter is noon tomorrow so I am just slipping this one in under the wire.  I like to live dangerously like that...lol

Well...I am 50% through my work week as my hubby and I have Friday off.  I am looking forward to a long lazy weekend....what are your plans?

Father's Day 2016

I rarely get to make pages for my oldest son because I rarely get any pictures.  But my daughter-in-law sent me this photo of Matt last week because she and the girls gave him a shiny new bike for Father's Day.  He also got a rescued pup they named Titan the day before Father's Day.  Matt wanted a male dog so he would have some male companionship in the otherwise all female house.  Last I asked how Titan is working out, Matt said he is awesome.  To document this memory, I used this wonderful sketch from Let's Get Sketchy:

Also, I wanted to note that I used all scraps from my scrap basket for this page.....awesome sketch to help clear out some lovely scraps.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your day with me.

Miss You -- Pig Time

I recently won a gift card from Simon Says Stamp (one of my favorite online shops for stamps, inks, papers and other papercrafting supplies) I used it to buy two brand newly released stamp set with matching dies.  This Hog Heaven set from My Favorite Things featuring the cutest little piggies ever was one of them.  I received them a few days ago and today I finally got a chance to sit down and color a couple images and put this card together.  I am still in the beginner stages with my Copic markers and I am having fun learning.  Hopefully you will be able to see improvement in my colored images over the next several months. For this card I used the sketch from My Favorite Things:

I am also entering this car in Simon Says Stamp's Monday Use Patterned Paper Challenge

That's it for me tonight.  I hope your weekend was as relaxing and productive as mine was.

Happy Girls Are Pretty Girls

On our recent trip to the Chicago area my granddaughters were so excited to see us.  It was a three day love fest.  This was the first picture I took of them that weekend and it was the best one I took.  I really wanted to make a page so they would remember this trip and the excitement we all felt just to be together.  I used this awesome sketch from The Scraproom Blog:

I really miss my girls and I hope I can see them again soon....3 days a year is just NOT enough time for a grandma to be with her granddaughters.

Thanks for stopping by my blog....have a wonderful and productive week.

Acting Goofy

Earlier this month my husband and I had a "stay-cation" -- we stayed home here in Florida and my son and grandsons came down from Indiana to visit us.  Being big Star Wars fans we spent a day at Disney Hollywood Studios.  We had an awesome time and we all got our picture taken with Goofy! I used this awesome sketch by Kristine Davidson at Creative Scrappers:

I plan to scrap these photos again for my son Adam's scrapbook but this page is for my scrapbook.  In fact for awhile I am going to frame it and hang it on the wall in my creative space to remind me of one the happiest days I have had in a long time.

Thanks for stopping by....enjoy the rest of your weekend.

The Best Vacation Ever

We had an awesome time when my son and his boys came down here to Florida earlier this month.  Adam stayed 5 days and the boys stayed 10 days.  I have a lot of memory keeping to do of those days and I have already jumped in and started my documenting.  This picture was taken at the end of a VERY long day at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  We had an awesome time and at the end of the day we were all still smiling....lol  I used this sketch from Grand Diva's Scrappy Place and I am entering it in her sketch challenge:

I am also entering it in Rochelle's This or That challenge:

I had to use butterflies or birds and I added a little wooden bird that I painted yellow.  He is sitting on the left side of the wood title that says"Our Family"

I am also entering this page in Kelly's Mood Board challenge.  I took my inspiration from the word "Summer" and the general overall theme of summer and summer vacation for my page. I also used nearly every color that is pictured. Here is her awesome mood board.

I just love the Scrappy Friends challenge because with a little planning and creativity, I can enter 3 challenges with just one page.  And I love that.  :)

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog.  I love that, too.  :)

Hello and welcome to my blog.  Here is my third card that I created for the Summer Coffee Lover's Bloghop.  I absolutely love coffee and love collecting and using coffee themed stamps to make fun cards.  This card was a quick and easy card that could easily be mass-produced to make a little card set for a gift.

There is still plenty of time to make some coffee themed cards for the hop....it is not only fun and you can build up your stash of cards, you might also win some uber-cool prizes.  Check out all the details HERE

Thanks for sharing your Monday with me.

Gramp's Glasses

I love my youngest grandson's sense of humor....he can be totally deadpan while everyone around him is laughing hysterically at what he is doing. He is a great kid to be around.  I found this picture of Cole on his dad's Instagram account and promptly grabbed it for this page. I used Bo Bunny Forever Young papers and embellishments with a few of the clustered camera embellishments from the Mama Razzi collection (one of my all-time favorite Bo Bunny collections of mine...I am hoarding my last bits of it for special pages).  I also used this fun June sketch from the Bo Bunny blog:

I am also entering this page in the Clique Kits June Anything Goes Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by tonight....I will be back in a bit to share another project....I have been feeling very creative recently.

Coffee Card #2

I am back with my second card for the Summer Coffee Lover Blog Hop.  I love my coffee.....it took me until I was well into my 50's before I really became a coffee lover.  Now nearly a day does not go by that I don't have at least my standard 32 ox iced coffee.  It is what helps me begin my work day at 7am and my afternoon coffee is what keeps me going.  I am pretty cranky, sleepy and forgetful without it! lol  To celebrate my love of java I am participating again in the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.  Here is my second card I have to share today:

I was inspired by this awesome sketch by Corri Garza at Paper Issues.  I love Corri's sketches and her creations....she always inspires me to think outside the box.

You have until this Friday June 24th to link up a coffee themed card for a chance at some awesome prizes.  If you do link up a card, please come back and leave me the link to your card so I can check it out and leave you some blog love.

Have a wonderful upcoming week.

Zoo Crew

So this is like the second two pager that I did this week.....what???? That is unheard of! I only create one 2-pager a year most of the time & now 2 in one week. But I recently went to Chicago to attend my grandson's 8th grade graduation and see the rest of the family and got some awesome pictures. These pictures were taken on a beautiful day we spent with my son and family (including my beautiful 2 granddaughters) at Lincoln Park Zoo. It was like the BEST DAY EVER! We had beautiful weather, not a whole lot of crowds and the only bump in the road was when lil' 4 year old Izzy fell and scraped her knee. But grandma kissed it and a nice stranger had a band-aid so it was all good.  I used this incredible sketch from Let's Scrap for my layout:

Here is a closer look at the left hand page:

And here is a closer look at the right hand page:

As you can see I did not stray far from the original sketch and I got 6 pictures scrapped and included some of my thoughts from the day.

I am also entering this in the Clique Kits June Anything Goes Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out this page.

This Happened

We just wrapped up an awesome family vacation. We live in Florida so for our vacation this year, our son and his sons came down here to visit.  We did all the Florida things including going to Disney one day.  We went to Disney Hollywood Studios and had a private meet and greet with Kylo Ren from the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens. These are a couple of photos that I scrapped for my grandson Cole's scrapbook....I will probably scrap photos from this event several times.  It was a good (and exhausting) day.  We made loads of memories.  I used this sketch from My Creative Sketches for this page.  I love how the sketch had both a horizontal and a vertical picture....perfect for these photos.

I am also entering this sketch in Clique Kits June Anything Goes Challenge.

Well that is it for tonight....today was my first day back to work after 11 days off so I am beat.

Thanks for checking out my blog.

Anyone Can Be Called a Father

I finished up my Father's Day cards and have one here to share with you.  I used this great sketch from Sketch-n-Scrap:

I rotated it 90 degrees to suit my card a little better but I kept all the design elements (including the stars).

I am also entering this card over at Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Father's Day/For a Guy Challenge.

Well that is about it....thank you for visiting my blog.

Hero Father's Day Card

I finished making the last of my Father's Day cards today.  This one is for Dave's dad.  I used this awesome sketch from My Favorite Things:

Well, I have been on vacation for 11.5 days and tomorrow it is back to work.  I guess all good things must come to an end.  Have a wonderful week.

Mojo Monday Sketch #451

Boy, I am slipping this challenge in under the wire!  I have 15 minutes before the deadline to get this card entered in the Mojo Monday sketch challenge.

I just love the sketch this week and used it for this encouragement card for our co-worker that is undergoing cancer treatment and having a rather rough time right now.

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Father's Day/For a Guy.

Thanks for stopping by the blog tonight....I hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Our Awesome Graduate

The third week of May brought a milestone event in our family.....my oldest grandchild, Jacob, graduated from eighth grade.  Jacob, his brother Cole and his dad (my youngest son Adam) live in Valparaiso, Indiana and my hubby and I live in Florida.  Living apart from family, I miss so many of the everyday celebrations but I was not about miss this event.  So my hubby and are flew up to the Chicago area and attended Jacob's graduation.  It was awesome being together with the whole family.  When I saw the above sketch at Let's Scrap I knew it would work out very well for a 2 page documentation of the graduation.  Here is my layout:

Here is the left hand page:

And here is the right hand page:

I made some changes to the sketch to work with the pictures and story that I wanted to tell.  The major elements of the sketch are still recognizable however.  I am entering this layout in the sketch challenge at Let's Scrap and the Everything is Awesome challenge at Scrapbook Circle.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.
