Naughty or Nice?

I was in the mood last night to make a Christmas card.  I saw this cute sketch from Seize the Sketch:

And I just thought it would be cute to stamp a chubby Paper Smooches Santa so that he looked like he was peering in a window checking to see if someone was Naughty or Nice.

Our holiday weekend begins today....I hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day weekend.  I know we will!  Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Perfect Match

I just fell in love with this sketch when I saw it recently.  Are you like that?  Do some sketches just speak to you?  I knew right away I wanted to scrap a couple of pictures of hubby and I from last year's road trip to the Keys.  I used up pretty much of the last of my Snapshots collection from Bella Blvd and this awesome sketch from Sketchabilities.  Here is my page:

I turned the wood grain paper on its side so it looked more like waves since the pictures were from the Keys.  There is still a couple of days for you to work with this sketch and link it up for a chance at an awesome prize.  You can see all the details HERE.

Hope to be back tomorrow to share another project.

So, up for an easy challenge?  Add some twine to your pocket page project and link it up .....you could be featured or win the monthly prize.  I look forward to your projects.  Link up your project HERE.

Cutting Edge Blog Hop

Here is my second entry for the Cutting Edge Blog Hop hosted by Pretty Pink Posh.  There are lots of prizes and loads of inspiration so break out, dust off your dies and play along.

For this card I used my Lawn Fawn goodies.....paper, stamps and dies.  I embossed the yellow cardstock with my Swiss Dots embossing folder and I am entering this card in the current Lawnscaping texture challenge.  I just love me some Lawn Fawn....they have to be the cutest, sure to put a smile on your face products out there.  I am determined to buy everything they put out (if I don't run out of money first...ha!)  Our nephew Gabriel in North Carolina is turning 5 in a few weeks and I was thinking of him when I made this card. I think he will like it especially the Toys R Us gift card that will be inside!  LOL

Finally, last but not least is the awesome sketch I used for this card.  I rarely make a card without following a sketch and some of the best card sketches in my humble opinion are from Mojo Monday I used their sketch #359 for this card:

I am also entering this card in Seize the Birthday Anything Goes challenge.

That's it for today....hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.  My mojo is flowing so I hope to be back tomorrow to share another creation.

Being Unique......

I decided today while at work selling building materials (can you say BORING??) that I was going to come home and make a purple flamingo.  Why?  Because I love the color purple and I love flamingos.  And I just so happen to have a relatively new (only used once) fabulous flamingo stamp and die set by Reverse Confetti.  In fact the name of the set is Fabulous Flamingo. Don't you just love the sentiment, too? I added some Wink of Stella clear glitter on my chipboard frame to bling it up a bit.  Added some sequins, a bit of Bella Blvd washi tape and this baby is done. I think I will give this card to my 6 year old granddaughter because she loves pink and purple.  And I always want her to be HER...the unique one of a kind Abby.

While at lunch today I was surfing the internet and came across the Cutting Edge Blog Hop hosted by Pretty Pink Posh.  There are loads of prizes which would be great to win but I was just so inspired to create something that I thought about it the rest of the afternoon.  Go HERE for all the details and I hope you have some time to create this weekend.

I used this sketch from Sketch-n-Scrap for my card:

I am entering it into their August sketch challenge.  They have some AWESOME sketches for layouts and cards that I am hoping to have the time to play with this month.  You can check their blog out HERE.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today....have a fabulous weekend!!

MFT Sketch challenge

I have always loved anything nautical and now since it has been trendy in the papercrafting world, I have accumulated a TON of nautical embellishments, papers, stamps.  I used several on this card.  When I saw this sketch from My Favorite Things:

I just could only picture a masculine nautical card with it. So I made a birthday card for my youngest son.  Can you believe he is going to be 33?  Me neither.

In addition to the My Favorite Things sketch challenge, I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge -- Anything Goes

Edited 5/25/15 to add: I am linking this up to the current linky party at Paper Issues --

Thanks for stopping by my blog....have a wonderful day.

Abby Loves Playing Outside

I have not worked on a 12x12 traditional layout in WEEKS.  Partially because we were on vacation the end of July and first part of August.  Then when I returned I just wasn't feeling motivated.  And I have decided to really enjoy my hobby, I am only going to create when I feel like it.  I really do not do my best work when I am under pressure to produce something.

I used this awesome sketch from Laura Whitaker at Stuck? Sketches.  You can see the details HERE.

As soon as I saw this sketch inspiration struck.  I often do not have a series of photos to use on multi-photo pages.  But while visiting family last month I made sure I took PLENTY of pictures so be prepared for a few multi-photo pages in the near future.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today -- I would love it if you left me a comment.

Happy Bird-day

My daughter-in-laws birthday is in just a couple more days so I wanted to send a little bit of Florida to her in the midwest.  And nothing screams Florida more to me than pink flamingos!!  Plus I just got these new stamps and matching dies from Reverse Confetti and couldn't wait to break them in.  I used a couple of Project Life cards (not sure what core kit these came from) so this card came together quite quickly.

I am entering this card in these challenges:

Seize the Birthday's current Anything Goes challenge

Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Summer Theme

Curtain Call's Tropical Trip challenge

And speaking of birthdays, today is my youngest grandchild's birthday.  Isabelle Grace turns 3 today.  Happy Birthday from Grandma and Dave to our lil' Izzy.  We love you, girl.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Stick It Down Card Sketch -- Congratulations

A new card sketch is up at Stick It Down Challenges and I just love it.  I used it to make this card for a lady that I worked with in Myrtle Beach who was lucky enough to retire last month. Here is the sketch:

As you can see in the picture I slightly rotated the sketch to make a horizontal card rather than a vertical card.  That is the beauty of sketches....you can tweak them to make them your own.  I rarely make a card anymore without using a sketch and Stick It Down's monthly card sketches ROCK!!

So does this sketch and card inspire you?  I hope so and I would love to see you link up your card .  See all the details HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Week #19 Stuck on You Sketches Challenge

Welcome to another challenge from Stuck on U Sketches.  Our challenge this time for your Project Life pages is to use a quote card.  I use a quote card nearly every week as I always need some fillers and quote are the perfect way to fill a page that may be a little light on photos or activities to highlight. On the above page I used a quote from Johnny Depp in the lower right hand corner.  Not only is the quote a good one, Johnny is awfully nice to look at!

Here is the right hand page for my week #19:

Thanks for stopping by....I hope you will enter the challenge over at Stuck on U Sketches....you could be the winner for our August prize....an awesome set of stamps and flair from Lime Citron! It is a $60 value.
