Lovely Ladies

My sister-in-law Cheri dresses her girls in the CUTEST clothes.  When I saw this picture she took of her girls wearing matching purple swimsuits and posing with their Grandma in Florida....I just knew I had to use it for a scrapbook page.  The papers I used are from Doodlebug's Polar Pals collection which is actually a winter collection but they worked perfectly with this photo taken last June.  I used the awesome Sketch-y Friday sketch by Laura Whitaker at Scrap Much?

Whew!! I sure did a TON of creative projects this month.  Thank you for stopping by and checking them out.  I hope I have inspired you to document your life and your loved ones' lives.  Because if we don't do it, who will?

Who Rescued Who?

My son and his family rescued a wonderful pooch in September.  Her name is Hazel and she has quickly become very loved and a cherished member of their family. She is a Basenji, she doesn't bark and I LOVE those ears!  This sketch and challenge from Scrap Our Stash was perfect for the page I wanted to do on Hazel:

I used arrows from List #1, blue from List #2 and red from List #3

Thanks for stopping by the blog today....we are more than halfway through the work week....yay!  That means the weekend is not far away.

Florida Shore is Fun!

I love to use a cute pun-ny title on my pages just to put an extra smile on your face when you look at my page.  This pun was perfect for my page featuring our nieces and nephews from North Carolina enjoying themselves on the beach in Daytona. This past Christmas I gave a completed scrapbook of their family to Dave's brother Aaron and his wife Cheri and they seemed to REALLY appreciate it.  So I am working on filling another for them this year.  Along with filling an album for each of my sons, and grandchildren and catching up/staying up to date with our Project Life pages.  You can see I am a busy scrappin' gal!!

I love the sketch on the BoBunny blog this month and I used it for this page.  I used the awesome BoBunny collection Boardwalk for this page....in fact, everything on this page is from BoBunny except for a couple of the enamel dots and the puffy sun.  Here is the sketch I used:

I am also entering this page in the Scrap Much? January Color Challenge:

I used dark blue, icy blue, wooden sled (woodgrain on the boat oars), gold and slush (a couple of my enamel dots were a grayish white)

I am off work today so I wanted to get this posted.  We are busy with a couple of fun days.  Thanks for stopping in....I appreciate your kind comments.

Today Rocks!

I have been missing my family lately and when I do, the best therapy for me is to break out their pictures and start scrapping.  This is my youngest son with his youngest son enjoying the first snow of the season last November.  They live in what is called the Lake Michigan snow belt.  They are in Indiana at the very tip of Lake Michigan and they can get some BIG snowfalls with all the lake effect snow coming straight down the middle of the lake.  And they LOVE it.  They are into winter sports and Cole is quite the snowboarder.  Winter is their favorite season of the year.  And I dislike winter so much I moved to Florida!!  Go figure!

I am entering this page in Clique Kits January Anything Goes challenge.

Thanks for stopping by tonight.

Happy 5th Anniversary

My son Matt and his wife Amy will be celebrating their 5th anniversary next week.  And like all marriages, they have had their ups and downs but through it all they have hung on, loved each other, forgiven each other and forged a union and built a home for themselves and their two little girls.  I am proud of them and wish I could celebrate next weekend with them.  The next best thing is this card with a Visa gift card in it so they can go out for a nice dinner together.

That large CELEBRATE sentiment is one of my favorites from My Favorite Things and I used this sketch of theirs as well for this card:

I am entering it into their sketch challenge...you can see all the details HERE

That's it for Monday....thank goodness another Monday is in the books.

Mr. Right

I was so excited to see that Imaginisce is releasing two new collections (that have pirates and flamingos in them....woo hoo!) and they have an awesome new design team with one of my favorite sketch designers Laura Whitaker on it.  In addition, they have brought back the monthly challenge on their blog and this month it is this great sketch that Laura created that I used for the above page:

You can enter this sketch challenge by getting the details HERE
In addition to using the sketch, 75% of my page has to be Imaginisce product.  Everything on my page is from Imaginisce with the exception of the small amount of twine for the bow on the tag, the gray cardstock and the glittered heart.  All the papers are from the Love You More collection from a few years ago. I bought 2 whole collections of these papers and used most of them in my wedding album. The tiny puffy sticker embellishments (camera and arrow) are from the oldie but goodie Scooter's Vacation collection.  That was my very first Imaginisce collection that I ever owned and I must admit to still hoarding some of the papers for the "perfect" pictures.  LOL...I DO love my Imaginisce!

I am also entering this layout in Clique Kits' January Anything Goes challenge.

Well laundry is calling me....thank you for stopping by my blog.

Shark Week

I just finished page 2 of my July pocket pages.  I wanted to give a nod to Shark Week which is on the Discovery channel every year in July.  I must admit to watching several of the episodes.  Sharks fascinate me and scare me.  We have plenty of sharks here in the waters off the beaches that I frequent.  That is why I spend most of my time on my beach blanket or on the pier....lol

For the above card on my page I used this Sketches in Thyme PL sketch from Shawn Lahr:

Here is the page I used it on:

We had a fun July.....from movies to sharks, Christmas in July projects and Minions to drinking copious amounts of coffee...life was good in July and I wanted to document that.

Thanks for stopping by...I will be back soon with the last couple of July page.  Then I think I might jump ahead to December.  Just for fun, what do you think??

Another Cup of Cheer

In December Julee from Verve stamps was offering a free printable with this sentiment and some other holiday/coffee themed sentiments and images.  They were awesome....so much so that I printed several sheets of them and know that I will be using them for a LONG time at the holidays.  I made a Christmas card in December with this sentiment but thought it was still appropriate to use for a happy new year kind of card this month also.  I used one of my favorite 6x6 paper pads....Altitude by Bo Bunny and this gorgeous sketch from Viva La Verve

That's is it for now.  Thanks for dropping in.

Happy New Year

I am in a card exchange with some other coffee loving papercrafters and this is a card I made for one of my January partners. I cut those cute coffee cups from a 4x6 journaling card out of my Cocoa Daisy July Day in the Life kit.  I used this awesome sketch from My Favorite Things:

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog.  I am heading to my creative place right now to create another card that I got an idea for today at work.

Epic Adventure

My grandson Cole is very brave, fearless actually which is quite scary to this grandma but I think it will take him far in life.  Last summer at the age of 9 he flew out to Oregon and attended a snowboarding/skateboarding camp.  He loved it and learned a lot.  He has been skateboard since right after he learned to walk and a few years ago took up snowboarding as well.  I used mostly Simple Stories Rad papers and embellishments on this page although the background paper with the subtle snowflake pattern on it is from BoBunny.  I used the right side of this awesome 2 page sketch from Brenda Ragdale:

And I am entering it in her sketch challenge at Grand Diva's Creative Corner

I am also entering it in the January Mood Board Challenge at Kelly's blog Creating With Paper and More.
Here is the mood board that I took my inspiration from:

I was inspired by the snow scene in the bottom left corner and the over color palette.

Then the final challenge in the Scrappy Friends Challenge is Rochelle Spears This or That challenge:

I had to use ribbon or twine and I used twin on my tag.

Finally I saw this great challenge and prize at Scrap Our Stash :

I was inspired by the snow drifts on the cover of this book and I used white paint on my layout also.

So that is about it for tonight from me.  Time to hit the sheets to get ready for a busy work week.  I have more projects to share so I will be back tomorrow.  Thanks for visiting my blog.

July 2015 Pocket Page #1

Today seemed like a good day to work on some crafty projects and I am happy with what I accomplished.  Tomorrow after the gym, we are doing some grocery shopping and all the laundry but I should be able to get to some more projects.  I am working hard to use up all my stash because there are some awesome new goodies being revealed at this very moment at the CHA show in Anaheim.  That's really a sarcastic statement because if you could see the inventory in my room, there is no way I could use up all my stash in 5 years.  But it sounded good...lol  One of the projects I worked on today was page #1 for my July pocket pages.  All my monthly title cards have the Bella Blvd monthly 3x4 card and a selfie from that month of Dave and I.
I used this sketch from Sketches in Thyme Project Life for one of my pocket cards this month:

The is the card I created with the sketch:

I adapted the sketch a bit and only used 6 round elements and in stead of a photo, I used it as a journaling card.  Here is the spread it was used in:

Thanks for checking out my blog. I need to get up early to hit the gym (it is very crowded this time of year with people starting to get serious about their health and working out.  In fact, it is one of my goals to go to the gym more often this year.  I hate getting up early on the weekend and going while it is still dark but I feel so good the rest of the day when I do.  Are you still on track with any of your goals this year?

For My Special Friend

I am very lucky to have my friend Debbie.  We first met while both volunteering in the nursery at our church when our children were babies. Then we worked together in a child care center and raised our kids together....she had girls and I had boys and we supported each other through the tough times.  When I got divorced Debbie never waivered in her friendship and has really be the one constant friendship that I have been lucky enough to maintain for the last 30 years.  Even with my moving down south nearly 14 years ago, she and I still keep in touch and can pick right up on those few occasions where we have actually been able to get together.  Well Debbie's birthday is next week and I wanted to make her a card that will make her smile so I reached for my Crazy Birds stamps and my brand new accessories and dies to put together this funky old bird for her.  I used this awesome sketch from Mojo Monday:

I turned it 45 degrees and used a birthday sentiment from Verve Stamps.

I am also entering it in Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge: Something New because the accessory stamps and dies for the hat, sunglasses and balloon have never been used before....my hubby gave them to me for a Christmas gift.  He is such a sweetheart!

That is about it for now.  After dinner I might work on decorating some planner pages, another card (this time a coffee-themed friendship card) and/or a traditional 12x12 scrapbook page.  What will it be??? Stop back tomorrow to see.

Nice Not Naughty

I have started making some Christmas pages from this past holiday season.  Unfortunately living 1000 miles from our family I am dependent on Facebook and Instagram pictures or pictures that are texted to me.  But I did get a couple of cute ones of my granddaughters on Christmas that I wanted to scrap so they could remember the Christmas of 2015.  I used this sketch from Paper Issues for the above layout of my granddaughter Izzy:

I used some of my new Pink Fresh Christmas Wishes embellishments on this page.  I wish I had some of the awesome Christmas Wishes paper but it was so pretty, it was sold out everywhere and I was lucky just to grab some embellishments. I was excited to see on the Pink Fresh blog a new monthly challenge so you know, I just HAD to enter a page!!

The challenge was to fussy cut some images from some patterned paper and use it on a layout.  I took this pretty patterned paper:

I cut some banners for my layout out of the triangle patterns on this sheet.

I am also entering this page at the Clique Kits blog in their Anything Goes January challenge.

Thanks for stopping by tonight.....hope your week is going well.

My Favorite 15

Whew....I never realized how much creating I did this year until I went back to choose my favorite 15 projects that I created this year. I wanted to join up with Paper Issues and their New Year Blog Hop showcasing our favorite projects.  And here mine are in no particular order:

I love creating masculine pages and this one ^^^ of my grandsons is one of my favorites.

Documenting my hubby's and my love for finding and eating at places that Guy Fieri has featured on his show of the same name was a ton of fun on this page.  We have visited a few more this year so I am thinking a Part II to this page just might happen.

This Disney themed page of one of my favorite days ever was scrapped and became one of my favorite pages in my own personal scrapbook.  Most of my pages make it into scrapbooks that are given away to the subject of the scrapbook but this one is mine, all MINE!

The pages above and below feature my beautiful granddaughters which makes it a no-brainer to be among my favorite pages.

Another one of my best days ever was taking my husband for a vintage bi-plane ride over Key West for his birthday a couple of years ago.  It was a blast and the best part was that I did not get sick!

Cute grandson picture + Bella Blvd + awesome sketch = one ^^^ of my favorite pages this year.

I rarely do any 2 page spreads.  Partly because I usually scrap one photo at a time.  But getting the chance to attend Game #2 of the Stanley Cup Finals was the chance of a lifetime and both my hubby and I took loads of pictures..  The experience warranted a 2 pager (an several pages in my June PL documentation).  I was very please at how these pages turned out.

I bought this awesome Simple Stories fall themed collection above with no idea what I was going to use it for.  We do not have fall here in Florida.  But a trip to North Carolina in October and a visit with my sister with an awesome old grain mill as backdrop and this collection was perfect to put this page together.

I love my re-done creative space and documented it on one of my August PL pages. I used the same colors as the paint in my room and loved the way it turned out.

So there are my top 10 layouts.  Here are my top 5 cards:

Not only do I love making masculine layout pages but I also love the masculine card the one above was for my oldest son.

Used a brand new Lawn Fawn set from my stash for the Get Well Soon card for my FIL after he had shoulder surgery.  I love the way it turned out.

Layering is not easy for me so I was pleased on the end result of this nautical themed Father's Day card.

And just to prove that I like some of my girly cards....I threw in this pink flamingo card that I made for my friend Teri.

And last but not least is a Christmas card that I totally scraplifted from Jen Shurkus for a challenge she was sponsoring....FUN!

Well are you still with me?  This is the end of probably the longest post I have ever created.  Which is your very favorite of my projects of 2015?
