Merry Christmoose -- Christmas in July #20

I love this little moose and decided tonight to give him the black and white treatment.  This is about as close to snow as I get here in Florida....putting it on my Christmas cards.  This stamp set is from Sugar Pea Designs and I used this sketch of theirs:

I am entering it in their Christmas in July challenge.

Hey....it's Friday tomorrow!!  I almost made it through the week!  Come back tomorrow for a couple more Christmas cards that I have to share.  I hope I am inspiring you to get started on yours.

Savannah 2010 -- Naughty & Nice

I think with doing Christmas cards this month for Christmas in July, I am in a Christmas mood.  Plus, I had all my Christmas goodies out so I created this page with mostly Bella Blvd papers and embellishments and this awesome sketch from Scrap Our Stash:

The picture was taken in Savannah in 2010 and I have been meaning to scrap it forever.  Somehow I rarely get around to scrapping pictures of myself.  I would rather work with pictures of my adorable and handsome grandchildren.  But I firmly believe that it is important that we include ourselves in our albums.

How about you?  Are you in your albums?  If not, include yourself in your next project.

In addition to the sketch challenge at Scrap Our Stash I am also entering this page in the Clique Kits July Anything Goes Challenge

Fleas Navidad -- Christmas in July #19

Paper Smooches stamps are some of my very favorite stamps.  The stamp set I used for this, my 19th Christmas card that I have made this month is one of my favorites of all.

I am just learning how to use my new Copic markers but I do not think that my little weiner dog turned out too bad.  And that Santa hat and little bone?  Just TOO cute!  And who can't help but smile at that punny sentiment?  I used Doodlebug papers (just to add to the cuteness factor) and this inspiring sketch from the Paper Smooches challenge blog -- Paper Smooches Sparks:

Well that is it for tonight....come back tomorrow for another card and a fun Christmas in July layout!

Noel -- Christmas in July card #18

Rarely do I ever use a card sketch twice but I really liked this sketch so I made another card with it.  A good online friend of mine made this adorable elf and sent it to me a couple of years ago and I have been hoarding it ever since.  He is absolutely adorable and I think he needs to stay in the family so I am going to send this card to my littlest granddaughter Izzy this year.

I used this sketch from Jo's Scrap Shack:

Thanks for stopping by....the work week is almost half over....YAY!!

Time For Fireworks

I was feeling very blue and down in the dumps last night when I wandered into my scraproom and saw these pictures and papers on my desk waiting for me to create with them.  The days events left me sad and emotional.  I however sat down and started playing with paper, photos and glue and it was therapeutic.  This page came together very quickly and it made me smile.

I used this great sketch by Laura Whitaker for Stuck? Sketches!:

I am entering it in their July 15th sketch challenge

The sketch is from Jo's Scrap Shack and there is still time to enter your card in the challenge.  All the info can be seen HERE.

My Coolest Friend -- Christmas in July #16

I love whimsical images with funky sentiment fonts which is why Paper Smooches is one of my favorite stamp companies.  I broke out one of my favorite sets for this card and colored up a funky chubby snowman.  I used this awesome sketch from Sketch & Scrap:

I am also entering this card in Paper Smooches Sparks Anything Goes Challenge

and also in Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Sparkle and Shine Challenge.  I used a clear Wink of Stella pen on my snowman to give him some subtle sparkle.  The white snowflakes are very glittery also.

Well, the weekend is here and we have plans to go deep sea fishing tomorrow with everyone from work on a private charter.  There are storms in the forecast but I am hoping the weather is clear offshore, the seas are calm and the fish are biting.  Sunday I hope to work on a traditional 12x12 layout of my grandson Cole this past 4th of July.

What are your plans?

Happy Holidays -- Christmas in July #15

I recently got a few Copic markers and I love playing with them.  In fact, I colored this little penguin and then die cut him with the matching die.  I think he turned out really well.  One of my friends even thought he was a store bought embellishment! I have a lot to learn but I am enjoying the process.

I used this great sketch from My Favorite Things:

I am also entering this card in Die Cuttin' Divas current Christmas in July challenge
and

Well it is nearly the end of a long week and I am very tired.  Thanks for stopping by to see what I have created and SMILE....tomorrow is FRIDAY!!

Here is the card:

Clean and Simple Christmas in July card #14

I am continuing with my Christmas cards after a brief break over the weekend to relax and work on a 12x12 scrapbook page.  Here is my 14th card.  I went clean and simple for this one.  I used this awesome sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch:

I also used one of my favorite Christmas/winter die from Simon Says Stamp.  I just love that single snowflake encased in the simple frame.  There are SO many ways to use this dies.  Here I just backed it with some red vellum and added a puffy sticker with a simple sentiment.

I addition to the sketch challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch
I am also entering this card in this week's Die Cuttin' Divas Christmas in July challenge.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card.

Family Forever

I am so happy that I got a chance this month to play with this sketch by Diana Fisher for Scrapbook Circle.  I missed participating last month. Last month in June with the Stanley Cup Finals (which we were able to go see one of the games in Tamps....woo hoo!) I just did not get much time for crafting.  But it is all good because you have to live in order to have something to document, right? AND....our team won the Stanley Cup so all those late nights staying up for the double and triple overtime  was really worth it.  In fact Dave and I actually feel a little lost now with no hickey.  Only 80 days until the season opener...LOL!

I used the above sketch for this page featuring a picture of Dave and I with his brothers' children.  Aaron and Cheri have 4 children and they recently came down here on vacation to Florida.  We had a blast spending a few days with them.  Let me share one word of advice,,,,,Bonefish Grill is not really very child friendly.  We waited over 30 minutes for our check and needless to say....4 kids did not wait very patiently...LOL.  We are going up to North Carolina for a big birthday party for 3 of the 4 kids and Dave's brother too in October.  And we are looking forward to it.

I am entering this is the Scrapbook Circle July Sketch Challenge
and
and
The Scrap Much? July Colour Challenge which was to use at least 4 of these colours:

Well, my weekend is over and it was a good one.  I hope yours was good too.  I will be back tomorrow to share a couple of cards.

Christmas in July Card #13

I have fallen a bit behind but hope to do some catching up on my Christmas card making today.  For this cute card I used a 3x4 card  and that cute little heart sticker from Belle Blvd's Christmas Cheer collection and some other items from my stash.  I used this sketch from My Favorite Things:

Thanks for stopping by today to check out my creations....I hope the rest of your weekend is AWESOME!

Hey Dude!!

I am really proud of my grandsons and some recent accomplishments each one of them achieved so I made some cards and tucked some cash into them.  Here is one of the cards.  I used this awesome sketch from DCWV and papers from The Guy Stack:

The stamps are Snarky Stamps exclusively from the Paper Issues shop.  I love them because I can totally customize my own sentiment.  If you are interested, you can see about ordering them HERE.

That's about it for now.  I am really looking forward to a couple of days to rest, relax and work with paper and glue.  What is on your agenda this weekend?

Total Cuteness

I recently sent a big box of cute clothes to my granddaughters and told them to have their mom or dad take of picture of them wearing their new clothes from Grandma.  And guess what??? It worked.  Just a few days later, my son tected me this picture of Abby and Izzy.  And because of the flamingo on Abby shirt, I HAD to go with the flamingo theme for my page.

I used this awesome sketch from Scrap Much:

I am also entering it in Clique Kits Anything Goes challenge
and
Scrap Our Stash P-H-O-T-O-S challenge.  I used the following elements for the challenge:
P - Pink Paper and Puffy Stickers
H - Heart sticker
O - Orange strip of paper
T- Tab
O - Oval (under the "Totally")
S- Scalloped sticker

Thanks for checking out my latest creation.....don't I have the MOST ADORABLE granddaughters?????

Christmas in July #11

The challenge for this card was TOY....hey a snow globe is a toy is it not?  I used one of my favorite Christmas collections that is currently in my stash....Bella Blvd's Good Cheer for this card.

The sketch is from Cardabilities:

Thanks for stopping by....hope your week is productive and happy.

Warm Wishes....Christmas in July #10

The challenge for today was GOLD.  I didn't have any gold embossing powder so I made a quick stop while I was out on Saturday and used a 50% off coupon and only spent $2.  That is a good thing because I am not a big fan of gold and I really do not like how this embossing turned out.  I have embossed this stamp before with white embossing powder and was much happier with the results.

I used this great sketch from Sugar Pea Designs:

Thank you for stopping by tonight.  Have a wonderful week.

Christmas in July #9 -- Christmas Blessings

I think that blue, white and silver is one of my favorite Christmas color combinations.  I love this die cut sentiment from Simon Says Stamp and love it even more embossed in silver.

I used this beautiful sketch from Mojo Monday:

I am entering this card in their sketch challenge -- you can see all the details HERE.

Thanks for stopping by.

Don't Get Your Tinsel in a Tangle -- Christmas in July #8

I have had this fun little penguin stamp for a couple of years now and love to use him on at least a couple of my Christmas cards every year. The challenge today was ribbon and I got so caught up with my little penguin, that I almost forgot to add my ribbon!

I used this awesome sketch from My Favorite Things. They have the most awesome new release going on right now...I am really keeping my fingers crossed because if I was the randomly chosen winner, I would have a good excuse to do some shopping there...lol, (Since when do I need an excuse to shop???)

In addition to the sketch challenge, I am entering this card in Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge-- Furry Friends (does a penguin have fur? lol)
and Merry Monday's Christmas Challenge #166 Penguins!

I am so happy....it is my favorite time of the week -- Friday night when the whole weekend lies ahead of me.  My weekend will contain a mani/pedi, a Minions matinee and more Christmas cards.  What will your weekend contain?

Christmas in July #7 With Die Cuttin Divas

I found a new-to-me card challenge site that has a great sketch up this week.  The challenge blog is Die Cuttin Divas, Their sketch was perfect for this card. The challenge was to use this sketch and a die cut:

I love this die that I used.  It is a polaroid type frame with the die cut greeting.  I used it to frame a pretty poinsettia on my American
Crafts paper.  The die is from Simon Says Stamp and is called Christmas Frames.

Thanks for stopping by tonight....I appreciate your sweet comments.

Christmas in July #6 -- JOY

I used Elle's Studio Good Cheer collection from last Christmas for this card.  It is one of my favorite collections and has traditional and non-traditional colors which I love.  I am a mix of traditional and non-traditional myself....lol.  I used this great sketch from Viva La Verve:

Viva La Verve is the Verse Stamps Sketch site and I just love their card sketches.  I am hoping to sometime win some of their awesome stamps.  I only have 2 tiny little stamp sets of theirs.
So I am entering this card in their sketch challenge and keeping my fingers crossed.

Thank you for stopping by.  I will be back tomorrow to show you a sweet card with an awesome die cut on it.

From Our Home to Yours -- Christmas in July #5

Still working on my Christmas cards.  The challenge for tonight's card was "Tree".  I decided not to go the traditional Christmas tree route and pulled out one of my favorite holiday stamps sets.  This one is from Neat and Tangled and I love it.  I wish you could see how sparkly this card is.  I used sketch #130 from CAS(E) this Sketch:

Thanks for stopping by my blog.  I will be back tomorrow with my JOY card.

Warm Winter Wishes -- Christmas in July #4

I am moving right along with my Christmas in July challenge to make 31 Christmas cards this month.  The challenge for this card was to use non-traditional colors.  I thought for awhile and decided that pink and purple were not traditional colors at all.  I used this sketch from Paper Issues which is actually a sketch for a scrapbook page.  I think the card turned out well and I think it will be giving it to my 7 yr. granddaughter for Christmas this year.

I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend.  I cannot believe how quickly these last 3 days sped by.  Thank you for stopping by.
