Christmas in July

I entered a 31 day challenge to make 31 Christmas cards this month.  At first it was rather difficult to get into the Christmas spirit and start making Christmas cards when It is 90+ degrees here in Florida but it is a fun change of pace.  Plus it will be awesome to have 31 Christmas card already made be the end of the month.  For this card the challenge was to use a sketch and I used this awesome sketch from Mojo Monday:

They are celebrating their 300th challenge this week and up for grabs are some pretty awesome prizes. AND you can enter more than once!  I know for sure I will be entering at least one more card.  I just love their sketches.

All of the patterned papers and embellishments are from Imaginisce's Christmas Cheer collection.  I won this collection in January from Imaginisce and this is the first chance I have had to use it.

Week #18 and a New Challenge at Week-2-Week

We have a new challenge up over at Week-2-Week (the new challenge blog I run with my friend Suzanne)  The challenge this time is to use a small bag, library pocket or mini-envelope to hold something fun, personal or interesting.

Here is a close-up of my bag:

Since this was a special week for us -- it was our 10th wedding anniversary I have some personal hidden journaling in there.  You can just see the tops of the journaling cards peeking out.

Here are close-ups of each page:

And I absolutely love the large pocket on this page:

That large pocket is perfect to document a special occasion such as our anniversary.

We have an awesome prize also for this challenge but I am not going to show you what it is .....you are going to have to check out the blog for more info.

48 Years!!!

My in-laws are celebrating their 48th wedding anniversary this week.  I think 48 years together is an amazing accomplishment and I made this card to celebrate with them.

Put on Your Party Dress

I really have been missing my grandchildren more than usual this week so I decided to scrap a page featuring the girls -- Abby and Izzy.  Scrapping really does help me not miss them so much and is therapeutic for me. I bought these party dresses for the girls to wear to Abby's 5th birthday party.

I am entering this page in the following challenges:

About A Girl Bold and Colors Challenge
and
Frosted Designs Polka Dot challenge

Thank you so much for checking out my blog...hope ya'll are having a wonderful weekend.

Project Life -- week #17

Here is another week done -- week #17 which was the end of April and was fairly uneventful.  On weeks when I do not have a lot of photos or things to document I either do a one page entry or as in this case I use a number of filler cards.  I am happy with the way it turned out. One more week in the life documented.

Here is a closer look at each page:

I am entering this 2 page spread in the following challenges:

Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger:
Scene in Tangerine -- I was really inspired to use the same colors as this trigger photo:

I am also entering it in Stuck on U Sketches Project Life Challenge to use twine.

You Are My Strong Anchor

Have I said how much I love the current nautical trend?  Yes, I think I have said so but it bears repeating because I loved the nautical look before it was trendy.  So I love all the cool products coming out this summer with the nautical influence front and center.

I used this sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch for my card:

Thanks for checking out my blog....hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.

I am also linking this card up to Paper Issues Endless Summer Themes which you can see HERE

Nearly 12

There is not much about life that depresses me except the inevitable loss of loved ones and how quickly children grow up.  My oldest grandson Jacob (pictured above) will be 12 in just a couple of months.  He sure is growing tall, mature and responsible while keeping and maintaining the sweetest, kindest spirit.  I am very proud of him and miss seeing him tremendously.  My son, Jake's dad took this picture with Instagram and lucky for me also posted it on Facebook so I could print it.  I print my own pictures and I love how the Instagram pictures print as 4x4.

I used this sketch from Artful Delight:
