You're the Triceratops!

I just love this dinosaur set from Sugar Pea Designs.  I made this card for our nephew Gabriel who will be 7 this coming fall.  He is such a sweet kid and he loves his Uncle Dave (my hubby).  I used this sketch from Sugar Pea:

I just used the sketch for this card and not the color combo.  I am also entering this card into Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge.

That's it for me tonight.  I plan on making cards all day tomorrow so I will hopefully be back to share some more.  Have a wonderful July 4th tomorrow.  All of our family is out of town so we have no family picnics to attend.  We might go watch the fireworks down at the beach tomorrow evening.  That is always fun.

Christmas in July Begins!

For the last several years, I have made 20-30 Christmas cards in the month of July.  It is fun to break out my Christmas goodies in the middle of the sweltering Florida summer. And it is awesome to have half of my Christmas cards made before the busy month of December rolls around.  This is the first Christmas card that I have created this year. I just love that Sugar Pea moose....don't you?  I used this awesome sketch from Sugar Pea Designs:

I only played with the sketch side although pink and gold would be a stunning color combination for a Christmas card.

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp Monday Tic Tac Toe Challenge.

I went right down the far right row and used 2 stamps, cardboard (black cardstock and the white card base) and washi tape.  The two smaller striped banners are actually washi tape that has been adhered to white paper and cut into banners.

Are you enjoying your holiday weekend?  I sure am and I am looking forward to one more day off....woo hoo!

Happy 51st

My in-laws are celebrating their 51st wedding anniversary this weekend. Isn't that amazing??? I wanted to make a special card for them and my mother-in-law loves anything with gold so I used some papers from the brand new DCWV that I received as a prize from them. It is called the Gilded Grey Stack and contains a lot of grey papers and several of the patterns include gold foil accents. Unfortunately this card did not photograph very well....it really is stunning in person with the gold foiled papers. I used this pretty sketch from Your Next Stamp:

I am also entering this card in the Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge.

I hope you are enjoying your long holiday weekend....we were off on Friday so ours is a 4 day weekend and I am loving it!

Wishing You a Fintas-tic Day

With my recent win of a gift card from Simon Says Stamp, I was able to get two stamp and matching die sets. This is the second one that I got.  The other set I used on a card from THIS blog post.  I just  love this mermaid from Reverse Confetti.  There are a lot of mermaid sets that came out recently but I felt like this one stole my heart.  I used this sketch from Reverse Confetti:

The deadline to enter is noon tomorrow so I am just slipping this one in under the wire.  I like to live dangerously like that...lol

Well...I am 50% through my work week as my hubby and I have Friday off.  I am looking forward to a long lazy weekend....what are your plans?

Father's Day 2016

I rarely get to make pages for my oldest son because I rarely get any pictures.  But my daughter-in-law sent me this photo of Matt last week because she and the girls gave him a shiny new bike for Father's Day.  He also got a rescued pup they named Titan the day before Father's Day.  Matt wanted a male dog so he would have some male companionship in the otherwise all female house.  Last I asked how Titan is working out, Matt said he is awesome.  To document this memory, I used this wonderful sketch from Let's Get Sketchy:

Also, I wanted to note that I used all scraps from my scrap basket for this page.....awesome sketch to help clear out some lovely scraps.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your day with me.

Miss You -- Pig Time

I recently won a gift card from Simon Says Stamp (one of my favorite online shops for stamps, inks, papers and other papercrafting supplies) I used it to buy two brand newly released stamp set with matching dies.  This Hog Heaven set from My Favorite Things featuring the cutest little piggies ever was one of them.  I received them a few days ago and today I finally got a chance to sit down and color a couple images and put this card together.  I am still in the beginner stages with my Copic markers and I am having fun learning.  Hopefully you will be able to see improvement in my colored images over the next several months. For this card I used the sketch from My Favorite Things:

I am also entering this car in Simon Says Stamp's Monday Use Patterned Paper Challenge

That's it for me tonight.  I hope your weekend was as relaxing and productive as mine was.

Happy Girls Are Pretty Girls

On our recent trip to the Chicago area my granddaughters were so excited to see us.  It was a three day love fest.  This was the first picture I took of them that weekend and it was the best one I took.  I really wanted to make a page so they would remember this trip and the excitement we all felt just to be together.  I used this awesome sketch from The Scraproom Blog:

I really miss my girls and I hope I can see them again soon....3 days a year is just NOT enough time for a grandma to be with her granddaughters.

Thanks for stopping by my blog....have a wonderful and productive week.
